cant get stair nose for under $65.06 for 1 piece!
I bought this flooring for my upper level. Prior to purchase I looked up the cost of the stairnose molding. The cost is 29.99. Unfortunately, I had no idea the shipping would be $35.07. You can only purchase the stair nose moulding from their online store. Regret the purchase!!!!!!

These new joints are very poorly designed!
I had to reluctantly buy 4 boxes of Select Surfaces Caramel Laminate Flooring, because the Toffee color has been out of stock for about a year now! This was the closest color I could find to replace some bathroom flooring I have in the Toffee color. BIG MISTAKE! First, the tongue and groove joints on the edges are different than on my Toffee flooring, so I had to modify one of the joints so they would even match up! Secondly, the new joint on the short edge is TOTAL JUNK! There is less than 1/16" of a groove to join the edges on the short edge, this is ridiculous! There is almost nothing to hold that joint together lengthwise, even silicone caulk barely helps. I tried to download pictures to show the very poorly designed new joint, but there was an "error", how convinient! Save your money and buy something better, I wish I did.
Hello Brian, While Toffee and Caramel are similar shades, they are not part of the same collection. Caramel is part of the newer Elite Collection that is produced in Germany and has a different locking system than our previous laminates. The only way to install these two laminates together is to use moldings to connect them. We do not recommend modifying the joints as this could damage the locking sytem. Beautiful laminate flooring! It was a little difficult to lay at first but once our installer got the hang of it - it went very smoothly! Looks like hardwood!

Some what OK
I bought this 3 weeks ago. Started doing my upstairs first. This is a somewhat good product. Not for me. This will be my 3rd DYI laminate project. My last home I used pergo xp. Very good product. Decided to go with select surfaces because it was cheaper. Because of how the tongue & groove is made. It's hard to tap the gaps you may have from time to time on some rows. I'm doing my whole house in laminate. Before I could finish my upstairs room. Flooring started to separate. Tried to use tap bar. I don't buy this flooring then gaps start to appear in my whole house. I'm returning the rest. Going with Pergo . Pergo is pricey . But you get what you pay for.

As this is a thicker flooring than most on the market (14mm total thickness), it can be more difficult to click because it isn’t as flexible as thinner laminates. When installing our Elite Collection laminates, it is important to never tap the planks as this may damage the locking system. To click the floor together and activate the locking mechanism, lower the plank slowly and apply pressure to the plank’s short edge. worst flooring
this flooring is aweful. Looked great when first put down. over about one month it started to wear where joints connect. Called manufacturer, they don't answer their phone. They do not stand behind there product. I tried to post pic of floor but they wouldn't let me.

The wear at the joints could be caused by some planks being installed at a slightly higher level than others. BEWARE - manufacturer does NOT support trim option
BEWARE - manufacturer does NOT support trim option I have laid this flooring (seems good), however, the supplier Select Surfaces sells longer trim pieces that DO NOT match the flooring, and AFTER I purchased/shipped the a bunch of trim, I find out from Select Surfaces that this longer trim is NOT even designed to color/style match the floor (I ordered the same color - Honey Maple) as it is not from the same flooring manufacturer. See the pic. Select Surfaces will not accept/refund a return of the off color trim. Very, very poor service. Go figure.

Because of this, the moldings you received might match certain planks more so than others. We recommend laying out several planks and placing the ones that match the moldings the best near the edges of the room. Awful
I have laid a lot of flooring and this was absolutely horrible to lay. I fought every panel to lay and ended up having to use a few nails. Don't buy it. I put down barnwood pattern in other rooms and it is much cheaper and very easy to lay. Very disappointed in this flooring.

Because our laminates are thicker than most, it can be a bit more difficult to click because it isn't as flexible as thinner laminates. However, our Caramel laminate flooring has an advanced SpeedLoc™ system that should allow for easy installation. Easily Broken
Purchased extra boxes due to expected cut overages. But what I did not expect were the several pieces that broke just coming out of the box. Out of 51 boxes, 9 planks broke before we ever put them down on the floor. We did finish the work, and the floor does look great, but make sure you buy plenty!
Hello Dawn, What you are describing is highly unusual. Although it is very uncommon, it is possible that some planks got damaged during transit. sam's club will not support the product
We just bought 52 boxes of this flooring and the instructions states you need to use 10mm (3/8") spacers. When I posted a question on this site asking where to obtain these spacers, I received a notice that they would not be posting the question. apparently, they do not sell the spacers but will not offer support to give the information on where to obtain them. This was over 1k in flooring...seriously?
