Mostly great

The battery life, look, and feel are great. I like the HR, body battery, and activity tracking features. Sleep could be better though if they allowed you to look at the sleep report without having to choose the wake up feature first. I like to see the report to decide if I need to allow myself to sleep in more to meet my sleep requirements and you can’t do that today. So I have to start a nap and that negatively impacts my body battery score which seems like it shouldn’t. I also wish I could use android or Apple Pay on the watch. The Garmin Pay app and partners look both too clunky and too limited to work for me based on the research I’ve done. If I have to do research to figure out how something works. I’m not going to bother.

Lots of useful features at a great price

I’m not a runner or a hiker. I don’t do triathlons, and I don’t do marathons, I do a lot of daily walks, and I train with free and machine weights at a gym. I also train on a treadmill, stair master, and a spin bike. My Vivoactive 5 is perfect for my fitness needs. It replaced my vivoactive 3 and I love the battery life on the Vivoactive 5. It’s light weight and is comfortable to sleep with to track my sleep. I find it easy to use.

Upgraded interface is fast

I like the vivoactive series of watches having and used them for many years. The 5 is more compact and I like the faster access to information along with the added health reminders. The screen is a welcome upgrade its always clear and easy to see. The Connect app still integrates my bike computer, HR band and watch.

I am still figuring out all that it will do

This is a computer on your wrist. It has taken me some time to get through all that it will do. What it does is impressive to say the least. The manual that can be downloaded to the cell phone is very useful, easy to read, and appears to have been carefully tested. In most cases the manual has been able to explain what is going on. One thing any owner must do is get down what buttons A and B do. Then it is a matter of figuring out how to record a walk or a run. I had no idea VO2 is so important. Being a Garmin this watch locks onto GPS satellites easily. The kool thing is that after a walk it provides a google map as to exactly where you went. It will likely take me another month to figure out all that it does and the information it collects. The best I can say is that it is more than worth the money. It is far better than anyother "smart" watch I have owned. This is my 5th watch. Oh, I do not have to charge this thing every day like every other watch I have had.

Very light and I can see it!!

The new color display is easier to see without my glasses. It’s amazingly light which means it gets in the way less and I am more likely to wear it. The battery life is about 2 weeks which is ok for the trade off of being light and thin. The sleep report feature has been a big help leading to changes in my lifestyle. I would recommend it for someone that wants to monitor their health, work out, and enjoy some of the technological features that digital watches bring without having to charge it daily or strap a brick to their arm.

intuitive, it’s not!

VIVIO5: I loved my Vivioactive4 & am totally frustrated with my new Vivioactive5. My old watch was intuitive & easy to use for my favorite sports & keeping health data. I guess these functions are in there somewhere in my new watch, but obviously not front & center. Are there reconditioned Vivioactive4 watches available yet? I’m 77 & don’t have a degree in technology,

So far so good

After months of researching which brand of fitness tracker was right for me, I finally decided on Garmin. I wanted a device that was user friendly and informative in regards to my activity. The Vivoactive 5 was reasonably priced and had the features I was looking for. The battery life lasts for 4 to 5 days depending on usage which is ideal.

Love it!

It took a little getting used to but all in all I like it. I like that it keeps better track of my sleep and my steps. It's nice to be able to go swimming with it and it also tracks my movement there. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get my steps information to transfer accurately to my iphone, the step count never matches.

Big upgrade from the Vivoactive 3

I really like this upgrade from the vivoactive 3 and well worth the cost. The sensors work a lot better and all the colors make it easier to read. I feel it has a better connection to my phone for alerts than my vivoactive 3. I like the additional feature of O2 level, respirations, and health snapshot.

Love it

I’ve been a Fitbit devotee since they came out, but all the changes had made me want to find something else. I’m glad I did! I love my Garmin Vivoactove5. The features and app are great! I love the ease of use. The alarm, tracking and workout options are fantastic
