Fulfilled my expectations.

I really enjoy having this watch and highly recommend it! I was never into watches before, but since I’ve become more active, walking daily and going to the gym, this has been a great fitness tracker. The battery life is excellent; I don’t even take it off most days. I was debating between this and the Apple Watch, but having to charge a watch every day felt pointless to me. This one tracks calories, steps, and logs all my activities, which helps me stay on track with my fitness goals. It's also lightweight and has a modern design, which I really appreciate.

Love the features

So I’ve had this watch for a few weeks now and I very much enjoy it. I previously had an Apple Watch but my husband convinced me to go with garmin. It has a lot more to offer than apple. The only thing I don’t like is if there is a wall between me and my phone it will disconnect. Other than that I love it.

Former Versa 2 & Versa 3 owner

fitbit just ain't what it used to be (no thanks to Google). Since 2016, I had owned 4 fitbit devices and was ready for a change. I compared Garmin and Apple SmartWatches and after initially thinking a Garmin Venu SQ 2 was the way to go I finally decided on a VivoActive 5. Battery life was the deciding factor between Apple and Garmin. The Garmin Connect app seems to be much more functional than the fitbit ever was. The VA5 communicates with MyFitnessPal and Apple Health via Garmin Connect so all is good there as well. I like having actual buttons to start and stop an activity instead of relying on a touch screen. So far, I am quite pleased with my choice.

Should have purchased Garmin years ago!

I have had practically every fitness watch on the market-FitBit, Polar, Galaxy, etc. My Polar cracked so I compared many brands. The Vivoactive 5 checked all the boxes so I pulled the trigger. I am SO happy I did. The features are all there and it was very easy to get comfortable with how it works. Bonus for the variety of bands and watch faces.

Like some features, not others.

This was an upgrade from my Vivoactive 3 which still works but was getting buggy. There are things I like about the new watch and things that I wish worked better. Pros: the metal cup for the strap release bar is gone, love sleep mode, charger plug is less loose, gives body battery and better sleep analysis. Annoyances: doesn't count my stairs when I go up and down the staircases at home, reminds me my sleep is non-restorative and my body battery is low, no always on with no backlight function

I miss features of the 4s....

Overall the Vivoactive 5 has some great upgrades - very clear screen and cool stats! What I miss is the feasibility of the 4s. I used the 5 last week during my triathlon and found the interface a little clunky for race day. I was unable to get activities started quickly and missed out on tracking my own stats. It could be the fact that I'm still new to it and have not become familiar enough with the interface. I also need to figure out how to turn off all of the questions after a work out because that was also frustrating on race day as I was focused on time - not feeling. I was also a little bummed there wasn't a small watch face size as I have a pretty small write. The regular size has worked out just fine but feels bigger than I would like.

Great Display!

I bought this to replace my vivoactive 3, which 'd used for several years. This new model has a much more sophisticated display, more features and is easier to read. I used the older model for golf three times a week and am looking forward to using the new one for that activity! Good purchase!

First Garmin

I bought my first watch about a month ago. I’m a runner and I needed something to track my pace. I also knew I wanted something to be able to play music from without having my phone. I still have not figured out how to download my Spotify playlists but I can skip and turn up volume for now. I never thought I’d become the person that tracks their steps but I am. I also love keeping track of my hydration levels. I really never thought I’d be someone to sleeps with it either because I never even wear watches or bracelets. I wear it to bed every night and it’s the best alarm. It just taps on your wrist to wake you up. Which surprisingly works because I’m a heavy sleeper. I wish you could play text or respond to them but other than that it’s amazing. I love my watch and it was so worth the investment.

Love the device!

This watch was perfect for what I was looking for out of a fitness tracker. The device can record my runs, and bike rides, while also showing my my HR live which is why I like it the most. The sleep seems to be accurate which is helpful. Overall very good fitness tracker. The only negative I would have regarding the device would be the charging cord. I have had to replace the cord 2 times which is a inconvenience, although the battery does last long which offsets that.

Great Upgrade from VivoActive 3

I wanted a basic watch & was very happy with the VivoActive 3. It was time to update it & the 5 is a great option. Affordable with much better features than what I had. The band is very soft, comfortable & fits my wrist very well. The screen is clear & easy to read. Overall I feel this is a great entry/mid level watch for those who are looking for something that has a fair amount of functionality & is affordable.
