I must have received a dud

The watch was in a different language. I went online to see how to change the language. In correcting the language I must have triggered a Garmin video that was in a loop that prevented any other actions being done. It wouldn’t power off, reset or go back to a watch face even once the battery ran out and then brought back to life. I returned it to where I bought it and am waiting for a replacement Vivoactive 5. Unfortunately I will not be able to get the beautiful orchid color I wanted.

Great Features

I bought my watch 2 weeks ago & has all the features that I need. I love the ease of mapping my activities & seeing my daily activities like hours slept, body battery/recovery, steps & adding my hydration. I appreciate the reminders to move! This is a very fun watch.

Love how the watch looks but

I’ve had the watch for a few weeks now. I love the look of it and it’s comfortable. My complaints are the sensor doesn’t work 50% of the time. I tried tightening the watch, loosening the watch, I tried cleaning my skin under the watch, tried whipping of the sensor, nothing has worked. The sleep app worked for two days and now it say no data. I’ve had a fit bit before and loved them because the sensors are very accurate. I was told that harming are better, but so far I’m not impressed.

One of the Best

After extensive research my wife and I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive 5. It's now been a of couple months wearing them 24/7 and we are extremely pleased! The watch is a precision instrument that reliably measures so many body metrics as well as fun things like the weather, emails and text messages, that you can also respond to. The brilliant display is absolutely beautiful and battery life is stellar. We charge once a week on Sunday mornings and there is always 30% or more charge left so the manufacturer's claim of up to 11 days is pretty close. The GPS feature will drain the battery quicker, but that is only used on specific settings where distance and a tracking map is desired. We chose the Vivoactive 5 over the Garmin Venue 3 because it is thinner, lighter, and smaller, the soft band makes wearing it effortless. We did not need the microphone, speaker, and EKG feature on the Venue, also the heart rate sensor on the vivoactive 5, although not as elaborate as the Venue, is still state of the art and functions flawlessly. We are 100% glad we chose the vivoactive 5 over everything else we looked at. The health benefits of having this watch have been substantial for us. Being able to actually look at graphs and charts of sleep patterns, hydration, heart rate, stress, etc etc have given us great insight into adjusting our daily life. We really appreciate the technology, ease of use and the quality built-in by Garmin.

Vivoactive review

I needed a new watch after wearing my garmin instinct just about everyday since purchasing it in 2019. The vivoactive is a great mid priced smart watch that looks as good in the field as it does going out to dinner in town. It tracks activities well and provides thorough data on them. It also is much more sleek than the instinct and is very comfortable and doesn't get caught on my jacket sleeves. My only disappointment is that the battery only lasts about a week, depending on which features you have turned on, and that I have already scratched it within the month of wearing it. Next time I would opt to buy the next model up as I am apparently very hard on gear.

Which Garmin is right for me?

My Vivoactive 5 was my first Garmin purchase, and it was a little hard deciding which one to get due to all the models they offer. For me, the main features I cared about were swimming, running, golfing, tennis, hiking, and music. I used their web app to help me figure out which one to get, and it recommended the Forerunner 165. But, the Forerunner didn't offer golfing, and you had to pay extra for music... but, I really wanted the altimeter for hiking. I was a bit torn. I ultimately settled on the Vivoactive 5, even though it doesn't have an altimeter. What I discovered after getting the Vivoactive 5 is that while it doesn't report your elevation while you are hiking, it does report it after the fact in the activity report, which is good enough for me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Vivoactive 5. It is counting my swim laps for me, providing useful stats on strokes per length, swolf, etc., music integration is a breeze, and it works well for all the other activities I wanted. So, if you're into the same sports I am into, I highly recommend it.

Mostly a good device.

I have been using this for about a month now. The heart rate seems to be accurate. I also like other functions such the sleep monitor, daily report, gps tracking, and swim lap counter. I do have an issue with the swim lap counter not recording when using the kick board without arm stroke activity. It does not record laps with this activity. Is there a setting for this? I am not sure.

Everything I need right on my wrist

My boyfriend got this for me for Christmas, and it’s everything I need as a runner, HR, Calories, pacing, VO2 max, etc!! So many features! And it’s really easy to understand real quick! I didn’t even have to really read the manual to get it. I love it !

A great upgrade from my Vivoactive 3

I have had my watch for a week and am highly impressed. The watch is very lightweight and feels very comfortable on my tiny wrist. The graphics are amazing and easy to read. I did an indoor marathon and my previous watch did not accurately measure the laps but this one did! I love the new features compared to the old one. I am still getting used to the functions as it does work slightly different but this is an improvement as the Vivoactive 3 sometimes did weird things at night due to the touchscreen feature. I originally charged the watch to full power and it seriously will last a week which will be great for weekend trips. I haven't explored any additional features such as triathlons on it but I am sure with the activity readings I won't be disappointed. Thank you Garmin!

Im impressed

I had a cheap watch that worked ok but it died. Tried various other cheap watches and they all had issues. This watch is amazing. The app that goes with it is really good. Im sure this watch will last me a long time. Also its nice being able to download watch faces as I have some vision impairment and was able to find a face that gave me the info i wanted in a format i can read.
