so, so. so far.

not as user friendly as my old watch. well lit, easy to read screen in any light. wrist action is not sensitive enough yet, that might change over time. love the way garmin connect and Garmin Express interact with it. still getting used to the features so will up date later.

Cannot connect it to my iphone

It works alright and i like the longer battery life compared to my vivosmart hr, however i had to pair it w my ipad as it will not pair or link up w my iphone se. For that matter i cannot link or pair my vivosmart hr w my iPad even though it lists it as registered to garmin connect. So it seems i can only pair one device w one Apple product. It worked fine prior to your last update and both were paired to the phone, but afterwards it would np longer connect. .

So far so good

After months of researching which brand of fitness tracker was right for me, I finally decided on Garmin. I wanted a device that was user friendly and informative in regards to my activity. The Vivoactive 5 was reasonably priced and had the features I was looking for. The battery life lasts for 4 to 5 days depending on usage which is ideal.

Perfect for the non-jackrabbit

From 2015 to Feb 2024 I was content to use my vivofit ONE + 2015 cardioband for everything: cycling (HR), rucking for colorado training (HR) and measuring hikes in colorado (steps+HR). Now that I've had a chance to incorporate the Vactive5 into my routine I'm hooked and have found the "body battery" to be very good to allow me to judge when it's time to dial back a bit on intensity. I'm still doing the same workouts, however with the GPS function on Vactive5 I now have data on the rucking (stair climbing with a 55#, i.e., 1/3 bodyweight) pack) workouts and can put everything into Intervals.icu.

If you’re hesitant, know it’s worth every penny!

I just started my running journey in March while using the VivoFit4 and quickly realized I needed something with GPS and the ability to track my heart rate as my Fit4 wasn’t truly meant for runs, just tracking basic activity (it had served its purpose well). Knowing I wanted to stick with Garmin as i’ve tried several competitors with zero luck, I bit the bullet and purchased the VivoSmart5. It has successfully helped me through my first 10k with its training features! I love that it notifies me of my heart rate, my stress, even tells me when i’ve reached each mile and my pace for it. While i’m no mega-athlete, this watch makes me feel like one! I’ll be a Garmin Girl for life!!

Should have purchased Garmin years ago!

I have had practically every fitness watch on the market-FitBit, Polar, Galaxy, etc. My Polar cracked so I compared many brands. The Vivoactive 5 checked all the boxes so I pulled the trigger. I am SO happy I did. The features are all there and it was very easy to get comfortable with how it works. Bonus for the variety of bands and watch faces.

Love it!

It took a little getting used to but all in all I like it. I like that it keeps better track of my sleep and my steps. It's nice to be able to go swimming with it and it also tracks my movement there. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get my steps information to transfer accurately to my iphone, the step count never matches.

Great watch

Watch is functional and stylish! Works great for tracking fitness goals and performance and is also good for every day use as well. I wish it had the ability to respond to text messages with an iPhone. Battery life is exceptional, lasts roughly 5 to 6 days before needing to be charged. Would highly recommend this watch for anyone that takes health and fitness seriously. Good job Garmin!

On top of my game with the Garmin VivoActive 5

The Garmin VivoActive 5 is a great tool to know where my body is at physically. I can see my heart rate, body battery (very cool), and even my stress level at a glance. This provides feedback so I can modify my activities, or better yet, get more active, as needed. I enjoy the sleep score and knowing how I slept. Activities are easy to track and there are many default activities to choose from. This is a nice looking, easy to wear, smartwatch. I really like it.

A great upgrade from my Vivoactive 3

I have had my watch for a week and am highly impressed. The watch is very lightweight and feels very comfortable on my tiny wrist. The graphics are amazing and easy to read. I did an indoor marathon and my previous watch did not accurately measure the laps but this one did! I love the new features compared to the old one. I am still getting used to the functions as it does work slightly different but this is an improvement as the Vivoactive 3 sometimes did weird things at night due to the touchscreen feature. I originally charged the watch to full power and it seriously will last a week which will be great for weekend trips. I haven't explored any additional features such as triathlons on it but I am sure with the activity readings I won't be disappointed. Thank you Garmin!
