Vivoactive 5

My wife got me one for my birthday. I had charged it twice and the second time the metal ring around the charging pins broke. I call and it was replaced with no problems. The one I received in place of has been great and I have had no issues. Very good watch with many functions and abilities for a decent price

Nice Watch features and cost

After a disappointing experience with the Tactical Instinct Solar x2. I decided to get rid of it for the following reasons. It was terrible. Inaccurate, Black & White screen, too many buts required to setup and operate. Way over priced!! I choose this model 5 Vivo Active for several reasons. 1. Past models 3 and 4 were very good watches and Garmin stood behind them. 2. Color screen I can see. 3. Easy to operate and setup 4. Features, multiple watch faces, and increased activity’s. 5. Accurate information distance and mileage, steps etc. 6. Cost is not bad unlike the Instinct 7. Durability and fast response downloading. My only complaints it is not text comparable with my I Phone like the new model VA6. No storage or ability to respond to text. The bezel is smaller than the VA4 I would prefer a larger watch face.

What a refreshing intro to Garmin!

I’ve been using the Garmin Vivoactive 5 for a shirt while now, and I’m really impressed! The design is sleek and comfortable, making it easy to wear both during workouts and throughout the day. The fitness tracking features are fantastic—whether I'm doing strength training, cardio, or even HIIT workouts, the watch keeps up and gives me accurate data. The built-in GPS is super convenient, and I love that I don’t need my phone with me when I go for runs. The battery life is also a huge plus. I can go several days without having to recharge, even with daily use. I appreciate the detailed health metrics like heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. It’s been really helpful for understanding my recovery and overall fitness. The display is clear and easy to read, even in bright sunlight, and I love how customizable the watch faces are. Syncing with the Garmin Connect app is seamless, and it gives me in-depth insights into my workouts and health. Overall, the Vivoactive 5 has exceeded my expectations. It’s a great smartwatch for anyone serious about fitness, and it’s definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend!

Great features but....

It sometimes feels like the measurements are off. Obviously, with a wrist watch things won't be 100% accurate all the time so I still give it 5 stars. I wonder if I need to calibrate it to maybe correct it. The battery lasts so much longer than my previous watch so I'm already impressed. The customization is quite extensive as well. I changed clock faces, edited my short cuts and even downloaded another app for my watch. The store seems a little confusing but I just need more time on it to understand it. Tldr: good watch, needs some improvements in the measurements aspect(or mine needs calibration if that's even a thing), battery lasts quite a while, customization is great

Like “an annoying best friend!”

That’s how I described this the other day, because of how often I get reminders to start moving again! But I love this watch and its features. I bought it to track my distance and heart rate while swimming but have gotten hooked on the extras and ease of use—and I haven’t even read the owner’s manual! I need to find time to learn the many features; however, I love that this only has two buttons and the touchscreen makes scrolling menus super easy. I was worried on how long I’d have to take this off to charge the battery but it charges quickly so I charge it while I’m doing dishes and take my shower. I highly recommend this!

Good and frustrating

Features are great. BEWARE the watch face scam - if you load the face app you can never return to the default settings without Paying MORE. Instructions mentioned importing historical data from vivo active4 but at 6 weeks of wearing it still isn’t reading my normal ( rx boosted ) heart rate and so over estimating stress based solely on HR. Also this is a Big watch. A little tough on people with small wrists. I wish there were natural fiber / breathable band options - any dampness under the default gives me a red rash. I like the features but I wish it was smaller and used my history

Great watch

I got this watch about 2 weeks ago. It took me watching some videos to figure out all the features but once I did that I was set. I love the watch, love the tracking of my health stats such as sleep, stress and calories. I am using one of the 10k training programs and while I prefer verbally guided runs, the accuracy of the watch GPS and stats is incredible!

Love the display

I bought the VivoActive 5 about a month ago after wearing a VivoActive 3 for several years. The brighter, sharper display is amazing. I also like the much longer battery life. I don’t use for cycling since I have a Garmin bike computer. I will use for kayaking but the local lakes have about a foot of ice at the moment. For us northerners, it would be nice to have a snow shoveling activity but I suppose I could use hike. I use the “Glance” watch face which shows all the numbers I am interested in.

Good smart / sports watch. Sleep score is suspect

I was able to create a readable custom watch face with the information I am interested in. The watch screens are a little cumbersome to navigate and the Connect app is a nightmare to find the settings you are looking for. The sleep score is way off from my Fitbit - I get 70-80's on Garmin where I got 80-90's on Fitbit - probably neither is accurate.

Features

I had an episode when walking too fast and was above my maximum heart rate. My daughter figured this out and strongly suggested the Garmin Vivatech 5 so I can check my HR while walking. It is awesome being able to check HR and helps because I am working on my target. Eventually I will add more of the features. Right now I use HR, Steps and Hydration.
