BUGS IN THE RICE

After opening the rice, I immediately transferred it to clean (brand new, just washed and dried) airtight food storage bins. The bins are made of clear plastic. After a couple days I noticed tiny beetles crawling around inside the container. The reason I keep bulk grains in airtight bins is to AVOID bugs and contamination but this rice was already infested. Gross. 25 lbs of rice wasted. Hopefully the rest of my pantry is still safe -- the bins at least could their job in that respect. And thankfully I had not cooked with this rice before noticing the bug infestation.

Gross!

I am extremely disappointed in this product. Only purchased because I could not find my favorite brand Golden Star Jasmine Rice in stores. Cooks like mush. The taste lacks true authenticity. Skip the purchase. I will buy my rice else where til my brand returns

Not my kind of rice

The rice is not what I’m used to. I went in to purchase the basmati rice like I had always bought. They didn’t have it and that was the only option. I decided to give it a try. I cooled some and it was very bad. The rice is not as long grain as the basmati brand. And it was very mushy and no flavor. So I returned it.

True Jasmine

I have been buying jasmine rice from Sams coz of their awsome price....I just notice that that in the past their jasmine rice cooks with more water for a perfect result....but for the last 2 years their jasmine rice needs less water when cooking...if you put 4 cups of rice you must add water 1 1/4 mm below the 4 line in your pot to have a good result of a non mushy cooked rice.....theres a reason why their new jasmin rice gets easily mushy during cooking...its NEWLY harvested dried and without aging it (cooling it) for atleast 3 months they may have milled it on the 4th day after drying resulting to a mushy and wet rice after cooking....aging is the secret of a tastier and stronger flavor and perfect intact grain when cooked...if you want a more firmer rice add 1 cup of basmati rice to 2 cups of jasmine rice and mix it to cook...water is 1mm below the 3 line on pot.....

Not Jasmine Rice

I only bought this because Golden Star is no longer available at my store. This is just cheap white rice; not fragrant, sticky, broken, and sat like a lump in my stomach. Bring back Golden Star! Smells like popcorn when cooking. Its plump, fluffy and enhances every dish! I returned this members mark bag immediately after dinner

You get what you pay for

This is by far the most inexpensive jasmine rice on the market and it's for a good reason, the quality is not good. This rice is not fluffy and as aromatic as the stuff you get in the Asian market like the 3 ladies brand. I'm definitely not buying this again.

Rat poop in rice bag

I bought this to try replacing our regular rice a little bit ago. Finally used up our bags of Jasmine I already had and opened up this sealed bag. As I was pouring into my rice container I saw something dark go by. I stopped, thinking it was a rock, and fished it out. It wasn't a rock. It was dried rat poop. In all my days of buying rice (including my childhood -we are Asian and eat a lot of rice regularly ) I have NEVER had or seen rat poop in a bag of rice before. So yeah, that's the last time I'll try rice from Sam's Club.
