We buy JASMINE rice because it has a beautiful aroma when cooked, but the one I bought in December was weird. It seems like a mixture of a regular white grain and a little of Jasmine. It just smells and tastes OFF. I just hope the production or repacking department did not mess up with this. We really can tell the difference.

It is cost effective compared to the brands that I regularly purchase from Asian grocery stores, but the taste is not as good. Not much of the fragrance and not as fluffy and tender. This will probably be the backup when I don't have time to drive to an Asian store.

I thought that the rice was genuinely planted side by side with pandan leafs or from a variety of rice that has pandan scent. Rice growth naturally with pandan leafs will make the scent stick. I can not 100% certain but from what I can smells this one like just some pandan scent mixed with rice.

I have been buying this rice since I became a member. Always the same quality, we were never disappointed. Similar or comparable to other jasmine rice at the $30 price point on 25lbs size. If you're thinking twice, just order one and try it for yourself.
