I love Kiwi but won't get them at Sam's

In general kiwi is very healthy & tastes great. However they were hard as a rock when I got them here at Sam's Club & then when some of them ripened barely enough to eat the rest were rotten.

Better than Krazy Kiwi

These are very good but currently not available at our SAMs, so we bought the Krazy Kiwi brand that was available. Krazy Kiwi is terrible- bought 2 boxes over 2 week period, both were not ripe, and had an inedible central core.

Watch out for hard Kiwis.

We ordered the Kiwis by curbside pick-up so never saw them before we bought. The Kiwis were hard when we bought them and never really softened up. Also did not ripen.

Green Kiwii

Before I purchase the green kiwii I open the container to feel for firmness of the fruit. If they are soft, I do not purchase. Great tasting fruit. With the firmer kiwii they last longer in the refrigerator. As long as I can purchase the firmer kiwii, I will continue to buy. These are a great price.

This Texan finally learned how to eat a Kiwifruit!

I'm only recently a fan of Kiwifruit. I prefer the green over the gold, but both taste good. I believe the green is prettier and looks more appealing to eat. I'm not crazy about eating the peel and used to avoid this fruit because peeling them was a lot of work. However, I finally did a little research and realized I had been doing it the hard way, trying to strip off the peel and slice them up like coins before eating them. Then I actually looked at the label a little closer and realized I simply needed to slice them in half and use a small spoon to either separate the peel from the fruit from the inside or just scoop it out and eat the delicious fruit, one spoonful at a time, without making a mess or a big fuss over it all. So much easier, and now a regular item on my shopping list. I have bought these several times, and they have always stayed fresh a long time in the refrigerator. I usually eat one a day as a treat, and it takes a couple of weeks to go through 3 lbs. of these.

What a bargain- Great price and quality

Just as good as other grocery stores but at a much better price per pound. It’s a bargain. I take of the skin and slice and freeze them. I add them to other frozen fruit to make smoothies. You may want to let them ripen a little but I’m fine with the taste and texture when they freeze.

Good quality, not mushy

These are so good for you and we like to add a little variety to our fruit menu; they are tart-sweet like strawberries. We always include them when we do 'fruit sculptures' for children and their parties. This size is do-able, as they keep well in the frig.

Spoiled!

Every time I buy fruit from Sam's if we do not eat it by the next day there are rot spots on it. I have shared this with the store by phone and they say to bring it back and they will refund the one bad fruit!!! I live 58 miles from the store! I don't think I'll go back for a Kiwi. I love shopping there. I just wish they would fix whatever the issue is. There are always flies around perhaps this is the problem!

Usually good, but problems with quality of late

Usually have great luck with the kiwis, but the last time we purchased them, fully 1/3 of the kiwi's were nearly to the stage of rot (large indentations and all). I don't know if they'd been sitting around for ages in the store, or if improper storage somewhere along the way ruined them. The time before that, the golden kiwis had the same problem. These are too expensive to continue to throw so many away.
