Love it!
I've never left a review in my life! But I feel that I should now. I purchased the Midea 8,000 BTU in a pinch for a tenant in one of my rental properties because the main HVAC system blew out. The rancher is about 1,100 sq ft. He was happy with the unit and it got him by in the heat of our 95 degree humid summer in Baltimore, MD. I was so happy that he was happy!! I took that unit when he was done with it and put it in my workshop which I absolutely love it out there now!! I just now ordered another one to use in our pool house. Super happy with it!

Good for a Year
We purchased this unit May 2020. We do use it every night in our bedroom. In the winter, we run just the fan for sound to drown out the outside noise. Last night 2 nights, our beardom temperature was mid 70"s. I set the mode on cool when we went to bed. Woke up and the room was still mid 70's, warmer than before setting the A/C to cool mode. I found the compressor is not kicking on. Also, the remote control quit working after the first year of use. We are very disappointed that we have to purchase another unit so soon after only 2 years. I will not be buying another Midea after this failed unit.

Cools the Room Great but Makes Alot of Noise
This AC unit cools my bedroom quickly and the wifi connection option is awesome. But! This thing makes alot of odd noises that make it harder to fall asleep at night. Four pages into the AC manual is a page I am posting in my review. It talks about all the noises it makes, what they mean, and that it is all part of normal operation. It makes all the noises all the time and it drives me nuts. It must be a big complaint for Midea because its at the front of the owners manual. I would stay clear of this AC is small odd noises bother you like they do me. If noises don't bother you then this AC unit kicks butt at cooling.

Love the features
Our sons room is the hottest in the house. Direct sunlight all day. We have central air but with this heat, it’s just so warm in his room. We upgraded to this window unit and it’s so nice. Cooled down the room within minutes. It came with a little remote but the best feature is the app. Being able to set a schedule for morning/evenings! Amazing. Can check the app and see exactly what temp his room is, what the house is, what the city is. The cord is nice and long. You can have the display on or off. Easy filter change. I’m super happy and highly recommend.
FAILED WITHIN ONE YEAR!
I have submitted a warranty claim. Purchased this from my local Sam's Club in June 2020. I inserted it into my window two nights ago. First night worked great, second night (last night) failed. Just blows warm air. I have never had issues with other A/C's in the past and I still have a 2010 Frigidaire still chugging along in another room. Extremely disappointed.

Doesn’t Last
Would not recommend this air conditioner at all! Does not last! We bought this unit in May 2020 and used two seasons. Stored properly. We had a heat wave this weekend and went to install it and it doesn’t blow cold air. Tried cleaning the filters to no avail. The unit just won’t cool anymore leaving us to have to go out and have to buy another unit. Very disappointing after the money we spent on this Unit. Will not be purchasing another Midea product!

don't buy
This product is inferior. I wrote another review explaining why but Sam's didn't like it. I had to carry these units all over the place and in the end they failed to deliver. So I had to carry them back to Sam's. Waste of time and energy on my part. I mentioned to the Sam's staff the problem and they agreed that other unsatisfied customers felt the same when returning theirs. I asked why the reviews misled me, no response.

Works great, app could use some work
I purchased this AC unit last year and it kept us cool all summer, and is now back in use this year. The updated iOS app is a nice improvement over the previous one, but the function to scan the QR code does not work. It says “QR code illegal” no matter how many times I try to scan it. I had to go thru the manual setup process.

Wish I had bought a GE
This AC doesn't cool my bedroom as expected. What I hate about it the most iA how loud this unitb is. My goodness! The fan is way too loud. Am always worried that in case of emergency, I can't hear from my room. It drowns everything out. I really wish I had spent a couple more bucks and bought GE. We have GE in our living room and that unit is efficient and definitely not as loud as this one. Highly disappointed. Don't buy.

No complaints
Our central air went out. 100° everyday for 9 days (north Louisiana) while waiting for parts to arive. Picked this unit up to at least keep our bedroom livable while we waited. This little guy made our bedroom an icebox at night kept the bottom floor pretty cool with some well placed fans, considering the heat wave. Central air is fixed and now I have a unit for my shop.
