Don't leave it in the weather outside!

I have no place to store this inside (machine shop in garage, wooden cabinet rotted, rusted the hinges and springs on the Sam's plastic storage locker). Harvey dumped 36 inches of rain and filled up the bucket with water which came in through the ratchet lock. Other brands do not have this problem, the lids are sealed. I had to get a gas mask on to open the container. The bags all had water in them.

Worthless

For my Spring start up, I placed the usual number of tabs in my dispenser plus threw granules directly into the pool. The chlorine level in my pool remained undetectable no matter how high I turned the dispenser up. I did have 2 tabs left over from what I had bought last year (PoolBrand, from Sam's) and threw them in my dispenser. Within hours, the chlorine level shot up. The new Member's Mark tabs are worthless. Thankfully, Sam's has such an easy return policy.

Don’t recommend.

I think these tablets are low quality. They are individually wrapped which guarantees two things:1) you will get this toxic chemical on your hands, 2) the little plastic bag will create little pieces of plastic which might end up in your pool. Also, these tablets tend to be in fragments and powder. They are low quality and packaging creates frustration.

poor quality

Chlorine tablets are not worth the price Sams Club charges. Tablets do nothing. I keep having to put pool shock in the pool to bring chlorine to 1.5 ppm. Tablets do not dissolve. I blame them for having an algae problem. Going back to HTH Chlorine 3" tablets. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Am I the only one to find scraps of plastic wrapper dissolving out of the tablets? It appears to be the same plastic as what the tablets are individually wrapped in. I find them in the skimmer or chlorine floater regularly. I also find them actually coming out of tablets! Seems to be good chlorine, just seems odd. Anybody else?

Definitely would not recommend this product

I bought this and we had nothing but problems with with our pool. Never could get any chlorine to register. Worked and worked, many trips to for water analysis at pool store. More shock (don't get that at Sams either) and finally, we had had enough. Drained the pool, refilled and used another brand of chlorine and presto, everything is good. Not sure what is wrong with this stuff, but is horrible chlorine.

Chemical problem

I bought a tub of these last year. Excellent. So I bought another tub this year and have been using them regularly. I started getting a rash all over my body. I didn't think it was the chlorine - I thought it was my bathing suit or that I had been using an inner tube and thought it was the friction of my kicking my legs. Hard to explain. So, I started switching suits, using vaseline on my legs, bought some 'slide' that pros use to prevent chafing. Nothing was working. The itch and sting were horrible. Then I got my dog to finally swim with me. Since he went in, he's been licking his legs, scratching and is acting like I did. I think something wrong with this tub of chlorine. I wish I would have stopped using it ages ago. A whole summer of miserable times in the pool.

Adds Calcium too!

Save yourself a lot of hassle, use liquid chlorine, you'll be better off in the long run. These tablets are good quality tablets, but like all other tablets that are made with Trichlor, they also add calcium, which ends up causing your chlorine to not work over time. It might take a year, or two, but eventually you'll have to drain your pool and clean the walls to remove the calcium.
