Great phone crippled by a fatal design flaw

This could have been a great phone but the location of the fingerprint scanner is terribly awkward. I could not get used to it and had to return it on the 14th day. The poor battery life also was unfortunate. It performed smoothly and was fast. It also has a lot of useful features not found on a lot of other phones.

Disappointed in one key feature

They took away the ability to designate a text tone for individual contacts. Used to have one for my husband, one for my son, one for best friend, etc. Now I can't distinguish their texts from all the texts I recieve. Makes me want my old phone back.

DLNA

My Galaxy S8 2 years later out performs most other handsets today in 2019 and is in my pocket alongside my LG G7 ThinQ both have terrible batteries which is why I carry both. Handsets today need 4000 to 5000 MAH to keep up with functional demands of most users. Unfortunately the newer version of both of my daily drivers can't compare or compete with their previous generation versions.

Amazing

This phone is amazing, I upgraded from the galaxy S5. And I am really happy with my new product. The bigger screen feels and looks amazing especially when watching videos and playing games. The phone design is superb, battery and camera are even better.

S8 Review

Love the new phone just a few things I don't like. I want to be able to change the style of the clock on the lock screen. Wish you could change the touch sensitivity. And I wish Samsung came out with a good screen protector because there isn't really one.

Scratches Insanely Easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my previous Blackberry Priv, naked, for a year, with no scratches. I've had this S8 for a month and there are already a handful of (light) scratches. There's nothing else in my pocket, treated well, no drops. While the phone is beautiful, it's horribly manufactured.

Love the Galaxy S8

Upgraded from the S5 and love the S8. Fits well in your hand. Has large screen. I got a screen protector to protect the beautiful screen. The phone itself would slip out of my hand many times so I did invest in a case. Except for having to restart all my apps (they were all loaded but didn't have all my history), the transition was easy!

Maybe Going Too Far

This is a nice phone, overall. The screen is great, as always with Samsung. It is set up similarly to previous phones, so there is carryover in setting it up. The sound quality is a big improvement over the S4. Design: It just barely fits in my pocket. I liked the S4 better for carrying and gripping. The hot edges are too sensitive. This feature is overkill. In general, there are too many bells and whistles, and too many settings. I'll bet I've spent close to 20 hours on setting it up, and it still isn't the way I want it. The clock is a mess. The S4 was far superior. The slot machine style tumblers are annoying and hard to see. Performance: So far, everything is working except the notification for messages doesn't always work, and the volume slider for the "System" turns itself off without any contact from me. The slider moves down on its own when it feels like it. I've still got a long way to go to master this phone. So far, this phone is overwhelming. It is possible to have too much of a good thing.

Best Galaxy yet

I am in love with this phone. The orchids gray color is beautiful. The camera works great with a lot of added features like snapchat-like filters as well as moving pics. The screen is so crisp and clear. Just a gorgeous, well-designed phone. Battery life is awesome!

It's ok. I'm still learning the phone.

I have explored more with this phone and it has been fairly easy. Although I have experienced times the phone freezes up. Many reviews claim screen cracking and breaking so I've ordered screen protector and case. These things should be free as they are flaws in the phone design....curved, not flat screen seems to crack and break easily per the reviews. I am liking the phone.
