The remote does not work most of the time

The TV freezes up and does not respond to the remote. I have to turn the TV off, take out the remote batteries and replace them, wait several minutes and then turn the TV back on. After that, sometimes it responds but 3 out of 4 attempts I have to repeat the process. I am in the process of contacting Support and I hope this can be resolved.

Video super, sound sux (only 2watts per speaker)

Acquired 2 weeks ago. Loved set up instructions and screen advice/directions. Only real problem is my older Vizio TV requires a setting of 30 to hear while this new model ends up having to be set to 65+ to hear at the same level. Unsatisfactory for such a high end spec unit. Additionally, also wish a 28 inch was available as well as some RCA plugs on the back. With such poor speakers, perhaps Vizio is "pushing" sound bars to hear with the newer units(?)

Does not meet my expectations

On paper this is a great tv. This model filtered to the top of my search quickly due to price and features. However once I got it home, I was reminded that the devil is in the details. First of all, the set did not detect my 5g wireless network. Why it only supports 2.4ghz is a wonder to me. This is not mentioned in specifications. Next, I was always concerned about chromecast as I never bought into the concept. Why would I want to involve my phone in my home entertainment decisions. For the record, I do not. However, in reading about the product ithe specs indicated it was an feature, but not to the exclusion of native apps. I knew I was in trouble when it would not let me see apps without agreeing to the Google terms of use. Once I relented I was able to see the paltry list of available apps. Note that although HBO is pictured on the box, it is not installed. I then attempted to search for my favorite apps that I use on my Samsung tv, I was directed to downloading via chromecast. I knew at that point this tv has to go back. The last issue I noticed while checking this tv to see if I could find a secondary use (I.e. give to family member that uses chromecast, etc). Watching Perry Mason on Me TV, I noticed the picture was stretched, but I was not able to change the aspect ratio for that channel only. When I changed that setting, it affected all channels. Details. This was my first Vizio purchase and I expect it may be the last.

Just what I was looking for!

I was in search of a TV for my office. This one turned out to be a sweet deal. It was idea for hanging in the corner of the room. The picture is at 1080 pixels. It looks terrific. It easy to understand how to use the remote and onboard manual. It is loaded with features. It is connected to my antenna and receives all the expected channels. It has quite a few apps already installed. The most popular apps are installed on the remote. And this tv is very light.

Beautiful picture.

Lets see, first off, the remote needs help. Breathe on it and the battery covers falls off. Next is the effort it takes to get the remote to function and undertake the action you actually want. Now for the tv itself. It's a beautiful picture! It's just two months out of warranty and the "smart" part of the tv quits working and the tv has to be reset every 5 or 6 days to keep the streaming functioning.

Black Screen after 15 days

Well I bought this for the kitchen in the new house I was building. It sat in the box for about 5 months. Once my house was done I installed it and it worked just over 2 weeks. I can faintly see App images but that is it. I defaulted the video settings and still nothing besides a black image.

Went downhill right after firmware update.

Bought this TV back in 2018. Worked fine up until I tried the internet connection and it updated the firmware. That turned out to be a bad move. After that update, the picture got progressively darker toward the lower section of the screen. Since I had not purchased the extended warranty, I was out of luck so I replaced it with a v405. So far so good. I hooked that one to the internet right away and it did two updates so that is out of the way.

Disappointing

I purchased the VIZIO D24F-F1 to replace a 13 inch crt TV with a converter box and bought VIZIO because a couple of years ago I had researched and found that VIZIO was one of three manufacturers that provided the adding of OTA stations after the full scan; an important feature for those who have antenna rotators and divergent directions of TV stations. That isn't the case now. Only a full scan is done. Strike one. The TV was to go in our bedroom. Distance from the bed to the TV is about 10 feet. We could not read the menu, guide information without getting up and moving to within 5 feet of the TV. Strike two. The smart TV portion does not allow for the addition of channels and one of them that we watch a lot could not be added. Strike three. I returned the TV and am back to looking for a TV to replace what we have. The picture was good though it was somewhat dark initially; I had to go through the available adjustments via the menu. The number of stations detected not as good as my 65 inch flat screen but as good as my 32 inch VIZIO and would have been OK if I could have added stations individually like the 32 inch. I was disappointed especially since all three issues seem to me to be a software programming issue.

Hello Chuck, There is a limited number of applications built into the SmartCast screen. We are continually evaluating new applications for addition to the SmartCast screen. In the meantime, you can cast any Chromecast enabled applications to the television from your mobile device.

Love the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used my VIZIO TV for over 3 years now and there are several things I appreciate, and some that I don't. My expectations were low due to the use case for the product as a monitor / TV. The product has worked well with the exception of the start up of the home page for the apps and the reaction time of the remote. Bottom line - you get what you pay for.
