Works Great smooth and quiet, watch the condensate

Overall I really like this mini-split system. It does a great job of heating and cooling the addition we added to our house. One nagging issue has been the condensate line. I ran the line from the middle wall location where we placed the system to the outside, probably 15 feet. When it drains thru the hose, all is well but often it sufferers a siphon lock and you have to suck on the end of the hose to get it flowing again. My advice is to make sure you have a good strong downward run for the line so you don't have the issues I am experiencing.

LOVE IT!

With the crazy hot summers here in Texas, this was a smart investment!! I can actually work in the garage without passing out from heat stroke. Cools off the garage quickly, and I love the articulating discharge. My only wish was there was an option to choose a longer length for the freon lines. It dictates placement of head unit and condenser and required some landscaping outside to hide the condenser from plain view and the HOA.

Mr Cool saved me $4000

So aside from some basic knowledge on how to screw in a light bulb I had never tackled anything this big, after watching some YouTube videos I felt confident enough to install it myself, the hardest part was making room on my electrical panel to install the new breaker and after purchasing some single pole 20A breakers I had enough room to put the new breaker, the second most difficult part was actually drilling a hole through the wall, simply because the drill bit was not as long and the width of the wall.Let me add that you shouldn't cheap out on the disconnect box for the outside,I initially purchased the $10 one from Home Depot and the disconnect was bent and so I had to troubleshoot from the breaker all the way to the Unit sooo get the $30 one with fuses as a double measure. The unit was installed nat the end of summer 2018 and it cooled my 1200sqft 18ft ceiling main level effortlessly. Heating is not as efficient, specifically here in Atlanta when the temp drops below 40F, the air coming out is not as hot even in turbo mode. All that being said I had gotten mutiple quotes from different contractors and they were all comming in at $4800 plus for a 14 seer 2 ton unit. Total cost of the project was $1490 for the unit, $100 in electrical supplies and $7 for the lineset cover which is basically a square plastic gutter from Ace hardware. If you were having second thoughts...don't this will save you $$$$

Perfect!!!

We bought this unit last summer for an extension on our house. This room would get very hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. This unit keeps this room comfortable all year long and my electric bill is not through the roof. Actually we are considering buying a second unit for our finished basement!!!

Good cooling system for summer and quiet

Our MRCOOL 24K is installed in a 700-750 square foot living room and during the summer times (in Bellingham, WA USA), it provides an acceptable level of cooling. It is quiet and performs as expected during the summer time. But during the winter, when the temperature goes below 40s, it has a hard time keeping up with the set temperature of 72F and the temperature in the living does not go above 66F or 67F even if it has been running for hours. We need a an auxiliary heating system to compensate.

Great unit

We purchase this unit with two air handlers and was impress on how quick and easy our Technician completed the install. The unit is very functional and works great during the winter months in two rooms. We just set the temperature and forget it. We plan to convert more rooms at a later date.

These Units Are A No-Brainer

We got a 2-ton unit for the main part of the house last spring to replace a dead central AC unit that was forty years old. Installed it myself, which cost about a third of what a professional HVAC companies were quoting me. I was worried about failure and warranty coverage, and everybody in the industry tells lies about how bad mini-splits are. They have a HUGE revenue-generating and mature business model they are trying to protect. Don't fall for it. Everything negative they said about mini-splits was a lie. Not only is a MrCool mini split easy to install, it is SO quiet you will not even know it's running, and one unit cooled the whole living area of our house, all summer long. We liked it so well we decided to get a 1-ton unit for our master suite, since it is on the east-wing of our home, away from the central living space. Plus there's an office/gym space with it (converted 4th bedroom) that had a window air in it that worked pretty well, but our bedroom would be too warm on the very hottest nights. So MrCool to the rescue once again. We dumped the old window air and got a mini-split to take over cooling of the entire area. The 12k BTU (1-ton) model is 110/120volt powered, which makes it easy to either route a circuit to it or utilize a lesser used existing one. Units should really have their own dedicated circuit, but it's even easier getting a 110v circuit run. Same deal, it is so quiet you can't even hear it, even when sleeping under it. You do need to point it away from you though or it will freeze you out. LOL All of my worries about installing one successfully, running it, and living with one, were without merit. This has to be THE very best investment/improvement to our home in the 25 years we've lived in it. Plus these two units ended up costing me one-fourth of what the pro's quoted for a new central air system. And yeah, our bill went up in the hottest months, but as soon as we weren't running them 24-7 it dropped right back down. The level of comfort was way worth it. Now, over winter, the hidden benefit of these two MrCool units is that they are a HEAT PUMP compressor so we get nice dry and warm heat to supplant our central gas-furnace. Same deal, they are so quiet you don't even hear them running. And once up to temp the compressor unit (outside part) shuts off and the air handler goes virtually to sleep, just barely turning. Same deal, so comfortable and efficient - even for heat! With MrCool, you just can't miss. A huge thumbs-up!!

Simple install

The unit came quickly and survived shipping. The cartons were very durable and protected the unit fine. Set- up was very straight forward. I love that the pressure lines are fully loaded. This truly is a plug and play combo. I am an electrical contractor and the wiring aspect would be the hardest for a DIY. The unit ran flawlessly last summer easily cooling my 1200sq ft first floor ranch. I am using it now in Jan. in PA (18 degrees today)and it heats great too. Only 1 cooling and heating season so far that's why I only gave it a 4 star. If it last for 10 years it would definitely rate 5 stars. I wish the line sets came in different lengths. Haven't used the wifi remote feature yet but it is a plus. Will be ordering a 12k btu unit for my master suite this spring.

easy to install and works great!!

I bought this unit for heat in a room in my barn so I could work on things when its cold. It is now January and I run this everyday. It was so quiet that I transformed the room into a man cave and now have TV and a bar set up. I spend most my weekends in there watching football and friends and neighbors stop by for the same reason. I was really surprised how the AC cooled the room on hot days but the real test was when it got cold out! It keeps the room comfortable even on the coldest days. And I was really surprised how inexpensive it is to run.

Excellent Product. Easy to Install.

I purchased this product a year ago and installed it with the assistance of one of my children in less than two hours. I had the electrical connection finished by a professional electrician, but just because he was present and working on other aspects of my construction project at the time. We have gone through 100+ and 20 degree weather since and the unit works just fine. Very quiet operation!
