Installed gen 3 DIY 23000 btu in 38 x 32 1200 sq ft finished wood framed garage. Garage is well insulated 9 ft ceilings. This thing is quiet inside and out. I have cooled below 69 degrees running for just a short time. This is a 2 ton unit and electric consumption is excellent when cooling it only uses about 1200 watts haven't tried heating yet. My house 3 ton central air unit uses 5500 watts. Installation isn't hard but takes more time than some are saying if you have to pour a pad and run new wire. Would recommend a uv HVAC tape over the tape that comes with the kit for the left over coiled line set. Will be buying an 18000 btu unit for the upper part of the garage. For the cost I wouldn't hesitate to install one or two of these in a house vs replacing the Furnace and central air unit ($8000) vs ($1800) per unit. Pay to get the line set cover kit. Ran 10-2 Romex and 25 amp breaker with power whip and Siemens out door disconnect. Wireless app was a pain to get working but power cycle the unit and press the LED button on remote 7 times within 1 minute to get the mrcool to show up on your phones wifi. Once connected it works great.

I will Purchase Again for the Master Bedroom !

Fast shipping ! Thanks ! I read hundreds of reviews before purchasing Mr. Cool. I am Not disappointed. It is so Quiet I can't tell its on until I walk in front of the blower. We knew purchasing a 23k was over kill for living/dining/Kitchen approx. 714 sq ft . However with bedroom fans on it cools those too ! Maintains 72 degrees ! We couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. Installation was easy for my son to do but he's a jack of all trades ! The only thing that was an issue was, we could not find the measurements for the inside unit in the instructions. When deciding placement that is critical, the inside unit was larger than I thought and we had to change where it was to be located because of the size and clearance issues, we had to unbox the unit to measure it to check clearances for the unit.

Bypass the expensive installation costs.

After reading other online reviews, and researching the installation process, I purchased a MRCOOL 18 K Mini-split system for my remodeled attic. The installation instructions were through and it took us about 4 hours to complete. The unit now quietly cools and heats the attic comfortably! Saved me lots of money installing it ourselves. No real need for a costly HVAC 'expert'.

Instant Home Equity for the Advanced DIYer

After researching affordable heating/cooling systems for my 1970's split level ranch and watching numerous YouTube videos I decided on the 18,000 BTU Mr Cool. The installation was straightforward and as long as you have the knowledge, the electrical hook up was easy. The most pleasant surprise was the cost to operate the unit so far this winter.

Great heat pump. Other issues.

This is the second Mr Cool Minisplit heat pump that I've installed. The first one was smaller and installed in an off-grid solar powered cabin. This is a project that an experienced DIYer can do. The hardest part was running the extra electrical circuit on both installations. This particular heat pump arrived in overall good shape, except for a loose screw on the brass refrigerant line connector piece on the outdoor condenser unit. The ordering and shipping process was an absolute nightmare and even though the SamsClub help line tried to help track the order, I ultimately ended up canceling the original order and re-ordered another one. SamsClub knocked off 10% off the purchase price for my trouble, but it would have been much better if I had received it on time. Oh, well. That's life. The Mr Cool heat pump is very quiet and I really like it. Overall, I'd do it again.

Nice Unit

I have this unit installed and running for 6 months now. AC worked well, using this to cool and heat my 25'x23' insulated garage with 9' ceiling. Kept my garage at 75 degrees in the summer heat with no issues and now in the winter I have it set at its lowest setting 62 . It is energy efficient and quiet. Only complaint I have is the fan runs at low speed constantly when not calling for heat or AC, not sure if that's normal to keep air circulating. Would recommend buying this unit to any DIYer, easy to install.
