Like the threadmill but not instructions

Bought this model because it stated that it comes almost full assembled and it does. However it very heavy (weighs more than it stated) and the electronic panel was hanging by the wires when I pull the threadmill out of the box. Thought there was going to be an issue with the wiring because of it. Plus the back left piece was broken off by the belt. The instructions were not that helpful and couldn't find a customer service number to call about the broken piece. Once the threadmill was assembled it worked and I enjoy walking on it. Definitely takes two people to assemble and lift into the house.

first one defective- reordering

The Exerpeutic 440xl heavy duty walking treadmill looks like it is a heavy duty product. Unfortunately, the round pipe in which the leg is to be placed was squashed and was no longer round so leg could not be installed. This looked like a manufacturing defect, since box was perfectly packaged and did not look outwardly damaged. The treadmill design looks to be exactly what I need, but had to return it to local Walmart store. I am reordering the same treadmill, and hope I have better luck with the next one. Shipping a defective product which is this big is expensive, and would have assumed that manufacture would have checked something so simple as to see if legs would insert into the pipe openings before packaging and shipping.

Larger than most

After searching many stores and websites I am so glad I found this treadmill. I love it. It's exactly what my family was looking for. The assembly was so easy. The only problem was figuring out some of the computer stuff but that is our lack of computers not the fault of the treadmill. There are not a lot of options for large people out there. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for a large person's treadmill. Buy this treadmill.

Great Walking Treadill

pleasantly surprised when I unboxed the exerpeutic treadmill. Found it to be easy to set up. After completing set up, plugged it in my wife started using fight away. It is perfect for wife's knee replacement recovery. Like that it always starts at it's lowest pace of o.4 mph and it's safety chord magnetic clip feature that stops the treadmill if person steps back to far or accident,y falls.

Exerpeutic 440XL Super Heavy Duty Walking

I have used my Exerpeutic Treadmill for 2 months. I am a food addict and decided to get my act together. I have lost a lot of weight using this treadmill 50 minutes a day. It is a good workout for me and in the future I hope to go a lot faster and longer. The handle bars are excellent if you are afraid of falling. I walk without using them now even though I have bad balance. The size of the treadmill is good for a large person because it is wide. It is quiet so I always watch TV and sometimes I lose my attention and could fall off the side. I always let the treadmill run 10 minutes after I am done or the belt would be to one side. My husband tried to adjust it several times but it is easier to just turn it off in 10 minutes. The pulse doesn't work I don't think because I get the same number every time. The calories seem awful low so I doubt that works right either. However, the only things I care about are the time spent on the treadmill and the distance. I think those are right. I don't care about all the bells and whistles - I just want to work up a good sweat without having to go to the gym and it holds my BMI .

Excellent Buy

After comparing and reading reviews on various treadmills, I chose to purchase this one. I feel that I made an excellent choice. I am just starting to get back into shape and this is perfect for a beginner to intermediate. It was simple to assemble and takes up very little space. I feel the value and quality for the money is five stars. Would highly recommend.

Exerpeutic 440XL Super Heavy Duty Walking Treadmil

We shopped extensively on the internet - different sources, models and features within our desired price range under $500 (if possible) , checking consumer reports from excellent to poor until choosing this particular model as ideal accommodate the needs of two people of different ages and weights. The treadmill was promptly delivered as promised, within 4 days from order date. Packaging was intact, moving to its location with the help of a 4-wheel dolly was easy and so was removal of the sturdy packaging. Once unwrapped, we were not quite sure how to proceed even after watching the demo video posted on Wal-Mart's website. Like some comments from other users, we did not find the assembly instructions too clear , decided to follow common sense and, within 15 minutes of temporarily loosening a few bolts had the machine in its final upright position, taking care not to damage the loosely attached control panel. A brief test run showed that all parts worked fine - and we were off and running, experimenting with various speed levels etc. We have both been using our treadmill steadily several times daily, for the past ten days and have been very happy with its performance. The motor is quiet, however, there is an occasional noise as the motor goes into dead stop after its lowest speed setting of point 4. We don't know if this is "normal" - it has not impaired its function and we are not particularly concerned about it. Overall, we are extremely happy with the unit - we love its special feature of extended handle bars with its controls. The control panel is easy to read even in marginal light and provides us with all necessary information - elapsed timer, speed level, pulse, distance covered and calorie burn. A non-essential, but desirable feature would have been a small platform extension beyond the control panel to accommodate a small pad or notebook (for example Kindle) to watch or listen to while exercising. However, its absence has no effect on our positive rating.

Challenging assembly required

The treadmill works great. My only complaint is about the assembly process, and instructions specifically. The assembly instructions are terrible. They were very unclear with illustrations that did not show the parts being described. It was as though they had been created by a monkey. We finally did figure it out, but it took considerable thought, effort, and frustration.

Two free workouts included!

They didn't mention the 2 workouts involved before you even turn the treadmill on. One to set it up and the other to cut up the giant box it comes in. But in all seriousness, it seems to work great and as a large woman I appreciate the wide grip bars at the side. Highly satisfied so far!

Get Fit with Exerpeutic

Got this a week ago, and really like it. There was a cracked end piece when it was delivered, but called customer service, and they mailed it promptly. It would have only taken 15 minutes to put together had someone else been home, but I struggled because of the weight- you have to stand the treadmill up on end, pull on a knob to release it, and then stretch apart the track from the bars. Other than that, it is a matter of screwing on two balance bars and two screws on the electronic panel. The treadmill runs much more quietly than my previous one, and has a plenty wide belt. My only "complaint" is that the belt is a little shorter than many others, but easy to get used to.
