My son has extremely sensitive skin and this did not dry him out or make him develop a rash. I am always cautious using a new detergent but I have decided after trying it out that I will be switching detergents. It has a very mild smell and lifted all of the dirt and spit up without being harsh on his skin. I would highly recommend this product.

I feel like this detergent was great for my clothes and my skin. It got my clothes clean and didn't make me itchy like some harsh detergents do. It's very lightly scented so no harsh scent chemicals. The lavender scent is nice but very light. I do wish it had a little more scent after putting my clothing in the dryer, but if you have scent allergies, this would be perfect for you. I received this detergent as a sample.I tried it on a casual and on a sanitize cycle in our front loader washer. Both loads of laundry came out clean and the clothes smelling really fresh. I am impressed and the results exceeded my expectations I had for testing Seventh Generation Free and Clear and will be using this detergent from now on. Very delighted to have found a detergent that is free from harsh chemicals and suitable for sensitive skin.

I received a free sample but I was surprised at how well a free & clear product actually cleaned our clothes. My boys get filthy every single day and cleaning their clothes is a battle. Seventh Generation stood up to the test and got through my boys tough stains. I feel good using a detergent I know is free of harsh chemicals and won't irritate their sensitive skin.

Although the Seventh Generation laundry detergent is fine for mild cleaning, it didn't work well for my kids clothes. My children have always been exceptionally stinky. From the time they started walking and talking, I've always needed to use high priced, high quality chemically-based laundry detergent. The natural ingredients in Seventh Generation just do not pack enough power to knock out the bad smells in our clothes. I received a free product for the purpose of my review. I have to say that I love this product. I use the Lavender liquid detergent all the time while doing my laundry, and I have to admit I love how it smells. Typically I do my laundry at a laundromat since I do not have the option of a washer/dryer at my apartment. I am glad that, once I wash my clothes, I use a product that may not affect other patrons if detergent remains in the machine. (I also worked at a laundromat for a year and had to deal with people using detergents that affected other patrons' skin. A big plus if you use Free & Clear) I also appreciate that it DOES clean my clothing. I received a free sample of the Free & Clear detergent, however my opinion is 100% my own.

I really like this detergent. It's comparatively priced. It does not require much for high efficiency washers. Sometimes I do see detergent stains on the clothes that look like grease stains and I am not sure if that is too much detergent being used and not rinsed out or if it's an error on the washers performance.
