Arrived quickly, turned it on, and it began to dehumidify the basement. After three weeks, the air is clearer and there is quite a bit less smell, and I think it would be possible to move things back into the storage area, for storage, a great concept. Emptying the container is straight forward, as there's a handle and no splash screen. After initially running on high, have switched to low power, and the hum (either speed) is fine and not disruptive. Just glad it's doing its thing, and the house is more fully usable.

I have a small house and one unit seems to be sufficient sometimes I keep it in the bedroom and run during the day and other times I have it in the living room and run it at night. I haven't seen any significant change in my electric bill from running it. I think it will be most helpful in the spring season when the AC is not required.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace an old unit that quit working. It is very quiet when running and really brought down the humidity fast. I also like that you can attach a garden hose to the drain tank so you can run it continuously if needed.

Our old dehumidifier kicked the bucket and put us on the hunt for a new one. We found this model after checking out a different brand. My wife is rather sensitive to noise so we wanted want that would not distract her. It lived up to its reputation as a reasonably quiet model. I like that it has a choice of fan speeds. Once in a while we caught it shaking and rattling a bit, but we have been able to quiet it back down by resetting it on the cement blocks it sits on. I appreciate its sleek design and that it has the hose attachment conveniently built in.

This 50 pint frigidaire dehumidifier does its job for a 550 sq. ft. basement. It is easy to dump the water when filled after 18 hrs. of use. It has a light that comes on to tell you when to clean the filter which is easy to reach & replace, all you have to do is run water over the filter leave it dry then reinstall. In June I noticed an oder do to high humidity. I new I had to buy a dehumidifier I searched on line for all types of dehumidifiers even went to home centers in my area. I didn't know which type to buy. I new if the dehumidifier would not work it would be easy to return it to my local Walmart store without any problems. I looked on line at Walmart.com because it was cheaper purchased the dehumidifer, a few days later it came to my local store where I picked it up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this two months ago and have had it running almost constantly since then. It's pulling moisture out! We do not have a basement so I move this between my kitchen (at night) and a bedroom (daytime). I like white noise as I sleep but this is too loud to sleep in the same room with, even at low speed. Our home is 1400 square feet but because there are so many rooms, I believe it has a hard time keeping the humidity consistent from one end of the house to the other. That is to be expected in my opinion. I'm happy I can easily wheel it to the room I want to put it in and I'm happy I got this size vs. a smaller one so that I can reduce the humidity quickly. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the long-term has yet to be proven. I also wish there was a way to easily clean out the tank.

I have owned four "Other Brands" over the years and all seemed to work satisfactory out-of-the-box for the first year or two, but ALL were fairly noisy ... And all have ceased to work after 3 or 4 years (out of warranty) and I was told by the Manufacturers that this is the 'normal' life expectancy of all dehumidifiers these days!!! ... So, on to my 5th purchase, this Frigidaire ... So far, so good ... Actually, so far, SO GREAT!!! ... UNBELIVEABLY QUIET, other than a whisper from the fan, I couldn't even here the compressor kicking in and out ... I actually didn't think it was working at first, but after a couple hours the moisture began to trickle out of the drain hose ... After the next 24/48 hrs the humidity had dropped significantly in my basement, and has 'almost silently' maintained a very comfortable level ever since, appx 3 months!! ... Hopefully, this unit will last longer than than it's predecessors, but it's definitely off to a great start ... I was so impressed that I even went back to the store where I purchased it and told the sales rep how pleased I was, and based on that, he said that he was going to buy one for his house too ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone that reads this !!!

I've only had this for a month or 2. The port for the automatic drain is in the back and I cannot get it to seal, hence water all over So I've been using the bucket. The handle falls off when full and again water all over. Last time, again the handle fell off and more parts fell off. Not happy with this product for those reasons. The unit does work well, but I can't have water in my basement. My basement finished and the water keeps getting all over the carpet.

I bought the Frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifier strictly based on other Frigidaire owner reviews. I follow the procedure of letting it set 2 days in box, letting the unit settle and then I followed the factory setup instructions. It's an old basement and has issues with moisture; it did a terrific job of drying up the 1100 sq. ft area.. Fan sound level on high seems acceptable. Two previous models I had were loud and one in particular I could hear upstairs. I have a 3 ft hose hooked up back of unit to a floor drain; no issues. All in all, a good purchase, fair price, shipping was fast and so far, performance is great. No complaints.
