wow, should have gotten this years ago

I live in a really old, small, damp, muggy apartment in central florida. Water condensation beads up on the windows when the temps change fast. This thing sucks the air so dry that my face sponges that are usually always wet, are dry by morning. I had to turn up the humidity level because my lips were getting too dried out at night. Really powerful!

No Issues

I purchased this exact same dehumidifier a year ago and it has been working great without any issues. Due to the size of our basement I decided we needed another one. Both are working great although the newer one has a little bit of a high pitched sound to it whereas the first one never did. Overall they work fantastic.

Good Product SO FAR

Bought this dehumidifier to replace a 1yr old GE that died. Of course it was just out of MFG warranty but luckily I did purchase the extended warranty and it paid off. I received full purchase price back as an eCard for Wal-Mart. Saw overall good ratings on this one so I thought I would try it. So far so good (several weeks). Use it in the basement. When first started it showed the humidity at 65%. Let it run on continuous for several days as suggested and it took my 1800sq ft basement down to a comfortable 45%. It's also about half the noise level of the GE. I have had several dehumidifiers over the years and this is by far the quietest one I have owned. Now we'll see if it truly lasts, hopefully at least several seasons.

Excellent results. Very satisfied.

We bought it just a week ago, but so far it is doing an excellent job of removing moisture from the finished area of our basement. With the humidity setting on 50% it is filling the bucket once a day. We can definitely "feel" a difference in the humidity. I'm glad we did not get a 30-pint model. Very satisfied so far.

works great and quiet

The bucket fills pretty much to the top so you need to be careful when emptying but otherwise so far so good. Mine is in the basement so I never hear it when it's running. I just go down every couple days to empty out the water right into my sump pump well so no mess for me.

Does not remove 50 pints/day as old unit did.

Have run on Continuous (and with HIGH fan setting) since receiving the unit 10 days ago as suggested to get humidity level down, yet it rarely gets below 50% (and never below 45%). I have disconnected hose and emptied tank over 24 hours on several occasions to measure removal, and the most I've gotten is 40 pints/day. Very disappointing as I ran my old Frigidaire 50 pint unit set at 35% RH and it would get our RH down to 35-40% in less than a day after being away for a week or two. When I wasn't using our drain hose I would empty more than 50 pints/day! Also, I NEVER ran fan on high on old unit.

Works Well and Not Noisy.

We use this in a basement that reaches about 80% humidity during rainy months, and the 50 pint bucket needs to be emptied about once a day. We've been using it for about 2 weeks at the time of this review, and it is quiet and effective. My only concern is that if the bucket is carried only by the handle (i.e. not held underneath also when carrying) the plastic handle could eventually break due to the weight of the water.

does what it should do

I still dont understand why they mount the humidity sensor inside the cabinet...but like every other one on the market they do...I moed it to the outside so it didnt cycle as much and it sees to work great...this one shuts EVERYTHING off when it reaches set humdity...many of the "other" brands do NOT...the fan stays on all the time...I dont want that and thats why I bought the Fridgidaire... they also stand behind their product 110%

Great Dehumidifier, So Far

I purchased thIS dehumidifier from Wallmart online. It arrived way ahead of the projected delivery date which was nice. The outside of this unit is mostly plastic which makes it much lighter than my old one. I took it out of the box and plugged it in. It has been running and doing it's job ever since which was 2 weeks ago. So far so good.

Works well. Could be quieter.

This works fine, but it could be quieter. It is louder that my previous dehumidifier which was a Soleus Air. Unfortunately, that one was recalled due to a possible fire hazard. You could hardly hear it, standing next to it. This one is louder but not excessively so. Just not what I've gotten used to.
