Love it! It's quiet and efficient. Hooked to a hose and then to the floor drain, it is minimum maintenance. No problem with the hose hook up. Shuts down when desired programmed humidity level is reached (set currently at 45%). It ran a lot for the 1st week but now only turns on intermittently. Using it in a 900 sq ft basement and does the job.

Packaged extremely well. No broken pieces; everything in tact during unpackaging. Remove the safety tape around the unit, plug in and it starts working immediately! I kept mine on continuous run for several days, and then started to set the timer. Easy to remove container and easy pour to discard any water collected. I'm very happy with this dehumidifier; it works great in my finished basement.

Liked the first one I bought so much, I bought another. . .and another. We live on a humid Caribbean island, and I abhor mold. We put in split-A/C units to dehumidify the main living areas, but some areas of the house were still damp. So, we put one of these babies in our master closet - no more moldy leather shoes or wool suits! There's another in our basement laundry and storage room. And big brother (the 70-pint model) keeps the basement dry when we're not running A/C. We usually use the buckets, but love the hose option for when we're out of town for a couple weeks.

The dehumidifier works fine. I like how it looks. The controls are easy to use. It does have a "noisy" noise when running, but not loaud or uncomfortable, just wish it were milder. I also wish it would show the current humidity when it is set on a timer - it just shows the time, no humidity level. Also, I agree with the other reviewers that the handle on the bucket seems flimsy and I always take extra care supporting the bucket from below when taking it out. Luckily, I don't have to do it very often, but it is an inconvenience since the bucket is very full and spills easily. Also, after the bucket is removed, the water drips inside from the top, no matter how long I wait after the beep to take out the bucket. I would expect the water to have stopped dripping by that time, but alas, it always goes onto the floor, so i need to have a towel nearby. One more thing, when set to a desired level of humidity and running, it will stop when the humidity level is reached (this is expected) but then when the humidity rises, it switches on for a brief time and then switches back off, often very quickly. I find this irritating and probably not good for the operation of the unit itself, so I prefer to set it to a slightly lower level and have it running longer and than just switch it off. All this apart, I like how it controls the humidity.

This unit significantly reduced humidity in our office. We were having allergy issues which may have been attributed to mold. Almost overnight we could feel a difference. I like the fact that you can either use the receptacle to hold the water collection, or use a hose to run it to a drain. The two speed fan is a plus. The low speed is quieter but does the job.

Bought this several months ago to supplement another, larger capacity dehumidifier that we've been using the past year. This unit had a very good rating for dehumidifying and was well rated for its air filtration as well. Lower day-lighted basement level of home in Vancouver, WA was consistently more humid than the rest of the house. This unit has been working non-stop, filling up about every 12 hours or so since we got it, and we have been able to maintain a humidity of 45%, down from a steady 70%. Can't say that air quality is better, but it is definitely less humid in our basement than it was before. Had a noticeable swelling of floor right outside bathroom door due to leak from bathroom more than 6 months ago. Since running dehumidifier that swelling has almost been completely eliminated, apparently by removing excess moisture.

After heavy rains my sump was operating constantly and the humidly was the highest in two years. I found this highly rated in Consumers Report so I ordered it at the lowest online price which was Walmart.com. Has worked great, was collecting two dehumidifier buckets a day for over a week. The basement is now at about 55%.

It was to the point my sons toys would be resting against the wall and when I would move them the paint would pull off the wall due to the humidity. This dehumidifier is super easy to work, I noticed a difference in moisture almost immediately. Definitely worth the money!

I can't explain to you how much water I emptied out of this dehumidifier after the first couple of weeks of operation. It worked so good I had to buy a humidifier to put moisture back into the air. Simply Amazing!!!
