In appearance it is identical to one that I had several years ago that Frigidaire warned of a fire hazard, and had to be taken out of service (and they replaced it with another). This new one appears to work very well - and is really quiet.

I wanted to hook up a 3/8 plastic tube from the dehumidifier to a vanity drain which was 7 feet high. It did not work. You actually have to use the size of a garden hose in order for it to operate properly therefore the pump wasn't worth the extra money. My basement by the way has no floor drain

I've been using this product for a couple of months, and it's performed reliably and efficiently. It's reasonably quiet, for a dehumidifier, but not something that I would want running in the middle of my living room or kitchen all the time. I'm quite please, especially if it lasts at least as long as its 5 year warranty!

I purchased the extended warraty for the failed unit because these dehumidifiers tend to last less than 2 years and loose refrigerant. The steel support plate for the copper evaporator coils has a galvanic reaction on the wet coil and corrodes causing the refrigerant loss. The tank still fills with water and shuts the unit off even though there is a drain hose connected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works as expected and is relatively quieter than the older unit but the plastic is weak. My wife used the handle to pick up the bucket to empty it and handle broke. Next the floater hinge broke and I had to rig it with a paper clip. One of these days I will call customer service to complain...

It worked out well for us! After some research we found the same brand dehumidifier at another store with an extra option, but cost much more. The digital display is easy to use and very quiet while running. This model seemed to be a much better fit for us at a much better price.

The dehumidifier has been running for about 3-4 weeks and it is pulling buckets and buckets of water out of the basement air. We had it running on continuous mode for the first 2-3 weeks to dry out our brick fireplace which took on some water during this spring's heavy rain. The dehumidifier dried out the bricks within the first week of running on continuous mode. The option to hook up a hose is great, but if you remember to dump the bucket twice a day (once in the morning and again before bed) you can run this unit in any room.

So far so good. It runs 24/7 in my basement set for 55. Seems to get it to 60, sometimes 55 in the heat of the summer. Not sure I notice a huge difference but that is not likely the fault of the unit. Check back in 5 years. If its still going, I'll be happy.

This unit replaced another brand which we had for several years. That one ran all the time and raised heck with our electric bill. We are very happy with the quietness and effectiveness of your unit and are happy we chose it from the several choices we had.
