Fairly quiet. Even when we think the weather is dry (low humidity), we find 50 pints of water collected every morning. We have a walk-out ranch home and the dehumidifier runs in the unfinished part of basement. Now we never have a damp smell in our finished family room.

Very nice looking unit I'm using it for about2–3 weeks and I am very happy I bought this Frigidaire dehumidifier Model: FAD504DWD. It's operating just as described. It is operating very quiet, removes a great amount of humidity which is very important to me.The removable filter is a plus, It is easy to clean. I'm using it in my basement, but I recommend you could use it any place in your home because it is not noisy. The unit has a 2 speed fan, high and low. In my opinion the prices is reasonable.

Great performance; easy to operate.

Based on high user ratings from a number of sources, I purchased this item when it went on sale on WalMart's web site, and took advantage of the free shipping to their store nearest me. Set-up was very straightforward, thanks to an excellent owner's manual. The digital relative humidity display is in a good location on top of the machine, and is easy to read. I'm using this device in an unfinished basement room of about 400 sq ft with a very high ceiling. A remote weather station sensor I keep in the room indicated that the humidity during the summer months was consistently in the 69%-70% range unless the door to the finished part of the basement was left open, and that action only lowered the humidity by a couple of percentage points, probably due to poor air circulation (no HVAC vents in that room). When I started up the device, I set the desired humidity to 50% and closed the door to the finished area. It took only two days of essentially continuous operation for the humidity to drop to the desired level. During that time, I had to empty the bucket about twice per day. Since that initial period, the machine now cycles on and off to maintain the 50% figure, and I empty it only once per day, even if it's not full. Incidentally, the humidity display on the machine is in sync with the readings that are returned by my weather station's remote sensor, so I'm confident that everything is working as it should. On top of that, it's Energy Star rated, too. All in all, I'm enjoying excellent performance at a very competitive price.

So far so good

Previously had a Frigidaire dehumidifier (2 years) but a power surge knocked out the compressor and I needed to buy a new dehumidifier. I bought another Frigidaire because the first one worked so well. Within 2 days of turning on the dehumidifier the basement was again nice and dry. The water flowed constantly from the continuous drain hose which has a much better attachment than the old machine which needed a fitting that was provided but still wasn't as nice. Nice features and easy to use. I received my purchase super-fast but that is probably because I was close to where it was being shipped from.

Everything I wanted.

I bought this for a tenant who needed a quiet machine. I've listened and it IS quiet. She is really happy. I bought a smaller Fridgidaire a few years ago. It has been reliable but is noisy. This new dehumidifier replaces one that was recently recalled. Fridgidaire was not on the list. I had free delivery to a FedEx that is nearby. Really fast and really convenient. I am completely satisfied by this purchase and by service by Walmart.

Quiet and works well

I reviewed a lot of dehumidifiers prior to purchasing this one. I have had it a couple of weeks now and it works great. We have a finished basement that has always been very musty. Now no more. The one thing I did do was purchase the additional warranty through Walmart just in case I had a problem. At this point I am very happy with the dehumidifier.

Does the job but noisy.

This dehumidifier works well but I was a little surprised at the high pitched noise. I am keeping it because it works great. It is very easy to pour out the water due to a nice handle. The water bucket goes back on easily. I read reviews that said water bucket was hard to go on bit I found it very easy. Even with fan on low it makes a high pitch noise. This is unfortunate but I'm keeping cuz great product.

Good product

This dehumidifier is located in my basement. We have an old damp, but clean basement and with the spring thaw it was wetter then normal. We were in desperate need to bring the humidity down. This product keeps the basement at a comfortable humidity level. I don't know how it compared to the old one in electricity used. I hope to see a reduction in next months bill. :-)

The dehumidifier does what it's supposed to. Sure you can spill the water, but you need to be resposible and remove the container carefully, after all water does move. I had to empty mine 3 times the first day. It really takes the moisture out of the air. It has rained here 28 days out of 30. It is no louder than a regular fan. Only one problem is that it does blow out warm air. Have had it now for a couple of weeks, don't have to use it everyday now, but when I do use it it works great. I read that it was difficult to use, not so. I have not used the hose attachment, just because I like to see how much moisture is coming out of the air.

Excellent job of removing moisture.

Amazing how much water this thing removes from the air. Only drawbacks are the noise, as the fan operates at loud and louder; and the RH display/settings, as it only displays/sets in 5% increments and seems to not be calibrated. Otherwise, it is sturdy and well designed. Remember that it is basically an air conditioner, so waste heat is ejected into the room it is in, increasing the heat load (and temperature) of the room.
