Plus I like that I can set it for different humidity levels and it'll shut off when desired level is reached!

I had it running continuously for the suggested 3-4 days and I had to empty the 50 pint capacity container at least once daily. I now have the max humidity set to 45% and need to empty it about every day, especially if it rains. I expected the unit to work wonders and it truly has.

Getting the distinct impression that this will break soon. I hope it is not true, but the design should enable a smoother open/close motion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this dehumidifier in our RV. With the humidity in a Florida, dampness can destroy an RV. We chose this to protect our investment. We chose to drain the collected water into the sink in the RV. After running it a week, six hours a day, we drained our tank to find about 10 gallons of water in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received 2 weeks ago. Our old dehumidifier had died a couple months ago. It started removing 50 pints of water from our lower level every 24 hours for several days! Can't comment on its longevity yet, but it is a heavy duty humidity-reducer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this item as a replacement for another Frigidaire dehumidifer that I owned for about 10 years that finally broke down and needed replacing. I have always been very happy with Frigidaire products, and this dehumidifier works great in our home.

It's been about a month since I placed this Frigidaire in our basement, and I was pleased that it quickly reduced the humidity from 85% to 60% and has kept it there to date. Also, it runs quiet compared to other brands. I hope it lasts for at least 5 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used it all summer and now into the fall. It works great. I bought this size for my 1100 sq ft first floor condo. Also I wanted to be able to remove the tank easily to empty it. I can but sometimes empty it before it is full. It shuts off when full which is terrific. It moves easily from one place to another. Very pleased with my purchase.

Removes humidity well, but the fan runs 24x7. The compressor cycles on and off as needed to remove humidity, but the fan stays on constantly 24 hours a day. Granted the compressor does use 90% of the power. I had to fight with Frigidaire for some time to get them to explain why the fans ran 24 hrs a day. I kept asking them if my unit was working OK because fans run 24x7, their reply was: “If the unit is removing humidity, then its work OK. They would not tell me if the fan was supposed to run 24x7 or not. I rate Frigidaire very in answering technical detail questions. Turns out it's designed that way, to keep the air moving in the room and to keep the coils from freezing up, I guess that could be a good thing, but I did not care for it. Several manufacture are now moving to fans running 24x7, so you need to ask before you buy if that bothers you as it did me. Friedrich (not Frigidaire) started making their dehumidifiers this way, but customers complained, so they did away with it. I returned the unit and bought a GE ADEL50LR at Home Depot (they matched Wal-Mart's online price). The GE fan only stays on for 2-3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, this is to insure the coils do not freeze up. GE customer support was very helpful and knowledgeable in technical details.

This one is quiet, and works like a charm. Another great purchase which keeps our house dry and mold free.
