It makes a high pitch sound that our other one (same model, but two or three years older) doesn't make. Both are noisy, but we can tolerate the older one. We returned the new one and are waiting for a replacement. If it sounds the same, we'll look at a different kind. We are disappointed.

After removing to dump the water bucket it is a little hard to get back in. Other then that it's a very good dehumidifier. It's doing a great job and is quiet. Part of the reason I chose this one is because the air comes/blows out the top rather the side. I've had about 5 dehumidifiers now in 30 years and this one is my favorite.

The only reason I gave this 3 stars is because it won't bring the humidity level below the high 50's and I have it set to run continuously. Also this dehumidifier only has a low/high setting whereas my old one had a low/med/high setting and it would bring the humidity level below 50% on the medium setting which was a little quieter as far as the sound level.

After research and comparison with other brands I chose this unit based on it's features, ratings, and customer satisfaction. Features such as set & forget humidity control, continuous drain option, two fan speeds, effortless filter removal/cleaning, etc. Have been pleased so far with my purchase.

I bought this for a two bedroom cottage w/ kitchen and bath. The cottage had no ventilation whatsoever; no central AC, no bathroom ventahood, and no stove ventahood---not to mention the physical real estate is prone to high humidity. The Dehumidifier does a great and a fast job at keeping the humidity levels down. And it handles all the extra steam and vapor that comes from the kitchen and bath.

Received this in good order. It's bigger than the 30 pt. model I'm replacing (which was recalled), but about the same weight, so a pleasant surprise there. It works as expected so far. The big question of course is, will it last? I'll let you know in 5 years!

This new unit is working fine at the present time. It has replaced the same model that I purchased new last year. That unit ran fine all season, but did not dehumidify when I fired it up this spring. If this new one only works for a year, I will lower all my ratings to zero.

This model works well in our humid basement. Frigidaire made some improvements over our previous model. That one had served us well for a few years until the compressor died. (Covered by the warranty.) I was pleased to see Frigidaire did not get caught up too badly in the recent CPSC dehumidifier recall.

This is our 3rd Frigidaire 50 pt Dehumidifier. We use it in a walk out basement garage. Before our first one, we noticed a gray mold had covered everything in our garage within a year of us moving in to our new house. We had called someone and he advised us to get a dehumidifier. It works great. On humid or rainy days, I sometimes have to empty the bucket every other day! It has a hose attachment but we don't have a place to run it outside. I only gave it 4 stars because the 2 we have had previously lasted only 2 years. I highly advise getting the 3 yr extended warranty for less than $20. (I didn't on the first unit) When the 2nd unit went out Walmart refunded our purchase price and I used that to buy a replacement unit + another extended warranty.

Fan blows always. Since in my basement I like a little heat output where this one give out none. Returned and got a keystone and even though the reviews said fan does not shutoff, mine did. Also keystone stated 40% humidity in the room and the Fridigaire said 50%. I tend to believe the keystone.
