When I read the reviews on this unit every one noted that they received the unit free of charge from Brother. The reviews were for the most part very good, but you have to wonder about reviews when you are given a free copier. However, with that said I have used this unit about 3 weeks now and I am very pleased so far in how it operates and the quality of the copies. Set up was relatively easy and I would guess I spent about 45 minutes total before having all its functionality working. Once it was set up running the machine was quite simple. I like getting an ample supply of ink to begin with and with the cartridges being XL's I think it is going to be a real plus in ink longevity. So far everything has been very positive and I would definitely re-buy this same unit.

I was in need of a printer that was reliable yet simple...I`m not very tech savvy. I`ve been using this Brother printer for 2 weeks now and it fits all of my criteria! A few of my favorite things are as follows. 1. Wireless connection to computer and my cell phone works great. When I installed the printer I set up our wireless network and I have been able to print from my laptop and phone. The instructions were simple and easy to use and I don`t have to use a special software, I click on print and it prints flawlessly! 2. Double sided printing is easy and doesn`t require me to feed the paper back in. I won`t get another printer that doesn`t have this option!! This is so important now! 3. The printer comes with tons of ink! I hate replacing ink but there is enough here to last me a long while. 4. Copying and scanning is easy and efficient. I have scanned documents straight to google drive as well as my computer and it was simple enough I didn`t have to consult the manual. The screen options are user friendly and easy to maneuver. I would recommend this printer to anyone who wants a reliable, easy to use and efficient printer!

The setup was extremely easy and relatively quick. It comes with a quick-start guide (in addition to a manual) which made the process seamless. It took approximately 15 minutes from box to printing a picture wirelessly from my laptop. It comes with a CD which I did not use as my laptop does not have the capability. I chose the option of downloading the software from the website which was very simple to follow. There is also an app for phones which I have not yet loaded. The lcd screen on the printer is easy to read and understand. The paper tray holds a substantial amount of paper. I have printed color as well as black and white documents and the print quality is very good. The printouts are relatively fast. The printer is a little louder than I expected, but not horrible. The scanning, copying and faxing capabilities are also wonderful options. The size is perfect for my space. It came with up to two years ink which is a major plus. Overall I am extremely pleased with this unit and would definitely recommend to others.

For the most part, I was satisfied with the performance of this printer. The instructions were straight-forward and the setup was easy. In addition to the good print quality and ease of use, there were a few small features that were an attraction. The printer is very compact, with the ability to completely close the automatic document feeder to save even more space. The paper tray had little stickers instructing which side of the paper was the print side, eliminating the need to either drag out the instructions, mark the paper, or guess. Even though these may seem like very small things to some, it`s these little details that make life a little easier.Although there were many features that I really liked about this printer, I was disappointed with the print speed, especially when using the required Brother Print & Scan app. While the app does offer more options for printing, it complicates wireless printing. A document can be printed through the app only after downloading or saving it in the device being printed from. Having to use the app just seems to add unnecessary steps.I would recommend this printer to most people. However, due to the slower print speed, this printer might not be a good fit for a high volume printing environment. But if speed is not an issue, this unit would be a good fit.

Instructions: I received the printer for review. It fit perfectly on my plastic printer stand. It was really easy to put together. I have had a number of printers and they are all similar. A couple of plugs, load the ink and it was ready. I only had to use the printed instruction once, before I connected to my computer. Easy to connect to the Wi-Fi. No issues finding and connecting my computer to the printer. Dislikes: I don`t like the digital screen. It seems outdated to me. It would be nice to have a touchscreen. Also the screen was really small, so I had to constantly scroll down to read any instructions on the screen. Also, navigating the screen was a little confusing. There were a couple of times, I selected the wrong option and needed to go back, but it wouldn`t let me. Took me a minute to figure out what to do from that point. Also, printing was slower than I preferred. I know part of the reason is due to the inkjet, but my previous printer was also an inkjet and it printed much faster. I had to print 19 pages of a document and it took more than 5 minutes on this printer.Likes: I liked the overall appearance of the printer. The size, the color, the option to both scan copies and feed through. I also like the fact that you can close the top, if you aren`t using the feed. The buttons are pretty smooth and easy to touch/operate. Ink is easy to change. Copying: It did copy much faster than it printed. I was impressed with the copy speed as well as the quality of the copy. I had some pages that I`d made notes in pencil on. After copying them, I couldn`t tell which pencil mark was the original and which was the copy. Really good, vibrant copies.Overall this is a good printer. Perfect if you prefer inkjet. Not good if you need to print a lot at one time, because of the print time. Great for a family printer.

I upgraded my Canon Pixma MX922 for ths Brother MFC-J775DW printer and I do not regret it! I like that this printer wastes very little ink and the excellent print quality! I really like how quiet and fast this machine is when printing. I really like the features of the web, I can enter my one drive and print without having my computer nearby. The only thing is that my other printer had many more maintenance options compared to this one. I don't like that the build quality feels cheap and very fragile compared to my previous Canon printer. I would have liked this printer to have a USB port to be able to print direct from a USB stick or scan direct to a USB stick. In general it is an economic printer with good features and good print quality. I recommend it.

Printing, copier, scanner, fax, color and black and white... not to mention printing over wi-fi! I enjoyed the print quality and the ease of printing from my phone. The printer was very easy to install and my laptop had no issues printing over wi-fi from my very first try. My only frustration with the product is the amount of time it takes to print. The actual print job takes a minute to 10 minutes for the data to be received to the printer. Sometimes I wouldn`t know if it was going to actually print, and occasionally it didn`t. I would have to force a cancel on the device and on my laptop. When I tried again it would start the previous print job (partial) and then begin the new print job,A few times that it printed correctly, the time it took for one sheet to come out was so slow. I don`t know why it takes so long for a basic black and white print job. I`ve never had a printer take so much time on each sheet.If you take away the time lags, the printer itself is very pretty, sleek, and does a pretty good job. It just seems to have a lot going on in its brain and has a hard time keeping up with what it`s told to do.

This printer was a useful addition to our home as it was not too big and helped make out at home busoness more efficient.ASSEMBLY/SET-UP: the printer was fairly easy to set-up and assemble. The instructions are clear and the parts minimal. I do not have a computer that has the option for a CD-ROM so I had to visit the Brother website to downlowd the drivers to my laptop. This was also made simple by the directions. The next set-up was with my mobile device from which I often print. Downloading the app to my phone to have the ability to print from it, was also easy to find and set-up. At initial set-up on the screen of the printer did not align with the paper directions. It forced me to repeat a process even though i followed the paper directions. For example, i had to remove and re-insert the printer ink in order for the printer to recognize the instructions were being followed. However, setting-up wifi was simple as the printer automatically locates what is available. I only had to enter the password.OPERATION: It is incovenient to go through the app in order to print. When i attempt to print from the usual web browser on my mobile device, it does not work. This needs to be improved. I have used newer Brother printers that allow you to print from any web browser without going through the Brother Print/Scan App. In addition, while the ink usage is good, the printer takes a long time to print color. Nonetheless, it prints decent pictures. Ive printed a few pictures using picture paper and while the quality is not the best, it is still clear and good enough to frame. In addition, the paper feed at the top did not recognize my picture paper, so adjusting the paper size within the paper tray was a bit annoying to do. When printing pictures, the speed is especially slow, but the capacity is there. Outside of these concerns, the other features of the printer operate well. I do not use the fax option so i cannot speak to that. Overall, I think the printer can be useful for simple needs and a patient person who is not looking for speed but a basic printer. Considering the output to ink usage ratio, it can be a worthy purchase.

I absolutely hate this printer. It is so very difficult and complicated! I just want to throw it into the nearest lake! Instruction manual. is not clear, can't find my pictures in the computer once I scan them. This piece of garbage is costing me money and time!
