I finally got rid of my HP printer that required not only black ink cartridges, but colored ones as well. The cartridges inevitably would dry up before I could use them for any significant length of time. My contact person in our IT department said to get a printer with a Toner Cartridge. So I did that and I'm happy with it. I will say that I miss having a copier at my house and that was one thing my other printer allowed me to have.

I had a paper jam, my fault.....put something on top of the printer and forgot when I went to print! Immediately help from Brother came up on my screen. I had it running in less than a minute! No going through files attempting to find a manual, then trying to locate my specific problem.

This is a great printer. I tell it to print and my two-sided papers come out fast. It was easy to clean the printer and change the tonor. The only problem is that it makes the lights flicker when it turns on. Is it powering up a capacitor and shifting the phase of my wall current? I don't know, but it makes me a bit nervous.

I needed a simple black monochrome laser printer at home, and ordered my Brother to give it a try. (Had not had one before, but other Brother products I was satisfied with.) I love it. We were talking at work the other day, and I asked if anyone had ever had a paper feed problem or other irritation with it. Both said no. Because I loved my home unit so well, I ordered two more for work. We have large, color, complicated printers for many things. But sometimes just a near-by desktop does the job. And our Brothers do it well, every time!

I purchased this very basic printer because my older "Brother" ink jet was failing me and drinking ink. I decided I could get by with a black only printer that wasn't an ink jet. So far I've proved myself correct. I'm very pleased with my basic printer and I'd recommend it to anyone thinking about purchasing one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One year of low to moderate use of this printer and the printer won't turn on. This is a problem well known to Brother about its printers as a Google search will show, but they don't seem to want to do anything about it. And when did it stop turning on? Right after the warranty expired! Within the month. Very convenient. I was supposed to get a call from Brother to help, but I did not. Awful experience and I will not repeat it and waste more money.

I use LINUX as my computer operating system. I needed a new printer and got this printer. What a mistake. I should have waited and got the COLOR LASER printer. For its price it is a great little printer, but I really need to print many things in color, and not I'll have to get a 2nd priter for my small desk.

I have owned a computer and printer since they were available to the public. My relationships with all my previous printers have been strained at best. I have even learned that many people have terrible relations with their printers.... Until I met the HL-L2300D. I had never know what it could be like to have a great working relationship with a printer. I even like to buy it new toner but I hardly ever get the chance. This things preforms exactly as expected every time. OUTSTANDING! LOVE for this product! RECOMMEND <3

This printer replaced a 14-year old HP 1022 LaserJet that was a real work horse. Wanted a duplex feature for a new printer and this works perfectly. My husband loved its features and had a lot of trouble installing his and had to replace, but mine worked out of the box without difficulty. The cat loves the flat, slightly warm top to sleep on, so I gave her a pad to keep cat hairs out of the printer.

Like other Brother printers I've owned in the past, this one looks like it's going to be a reliable work horse. Assembly and setup was easy. It has a large paper capacity and reliable paper feed. Print is clear and crisp. My jprevious Brother printer gave me 15 years of service before I gave it to a neighbor, still working! I'm hoping this one will do the same.
