Works better than I expected. Very happy with purchase. Takes up very little space on desk, and prints very quickly. Looks like I will save big time on ink.

The printer does a very good job. The printing quality is excellent. The operation is very simple. I installed it on a Linux Mint system and the drivers were included in the kernel and were installed automatically.

Enjoying my printer and love the way it prints, especially double-sided. I really do like it and it's reliability. The only upgrade I'd like is the ability to print in color. Otherwise, love my brother 2300.

I've had other printers over the years, but this one is the BEST one I've ever owned. I get clear copies quickly, and all I have to do is click and print! It is GREAT! It is always ready, no delay andI know that I will get exactly what I want. Thank you!

I purchased two Brother HL-L2300D printers at the same time, one through Wal-Mart and the other through Amazon. I did that because it costs more than the cost of the printer to buy a drum unit, which will need to be replaced after about 5,000 pages have been printed. Wal-Mart processed and delivered the printer in TWO days, while Amazon took one WEEK! The printer itself is only a low-cost laser printer but it meets my needs perfectly! You only get what you pay for, so depending on how you use it, this printer could be a great match. I use it for only occasional printing at home, so I don't think this printer would be good for heavy use in a large business setting. Brother approached the design using a lot of plastic but what do you expect for $95? They have separated the drum from the toner, so the cost of toner is a lot cheaper than when you buy printers that have the drum and toner in the same cartridge, like most of the HP printers. That only makes sense considering every time you buy a cartridge from HP, you are buying the drum and the toner at the same time, while with this printer, you only need to buy the toner until the drum unit requires replacement. I was so impressed with Wal-Mart, that I have moved all of my personal buying needs from Amazon to Wal-Mart and I would recommend buying this Brother HL-L2300D printer, so long as you only need to use it occasionally in a HOME setting.

This printer is ridiculously heavy, or I would be returning it to Walmart.com immediately. I literally can't get it back in the box to ship it. I was trying to set it up, and discovered that to even begin the process I need to purchase a separate cable that is not included with the printer. Now I'm going to have to order that and wait for it to come in before I'll even know if the printer works or not. Meanwhile, I have this monstrosity taking up room on my desk and collecting dust for absolutely no reason. It's not even attractive. The picture shows it as a sleek dark charcoal gray, but the printer is that old 1990s ugly faded puke-gray color.

I bought this to use at home since I no longer have access to my trusty office printer due to covid-19. I only use it on occasion so I can't speak to how it works on big jobs, but I've had zero complaints since setting it up. The one problem I did have - everyone recommends just using the installation package on Brothers' website, but when I did that, it didn't recognize the printer. I uninstalled the software, then reinstalled it from the CD they sent me with the printer, and then it worked right away. So, my recommendation is just to use the disc they send and be done with it.

It needs a longer cord to connect to the computer. Also mine stopped working after 4 years with minimal use and no apparent damage (I didn't drop it, no power outage, etc). It was legitimately working one day and blinking all the lights the next. At this point it's cheaper to just buy a new one. Overall solid printer, used it all of college, but frustrating that all of a sudden it stopped working while in like-new condition.

I accidentally hit print all instead of selection. Started printing 500 sheets! Could not find cancel print button on machine. By the time I got the machine to respond to the cancel print command on the printer function icon I had almost 100 pages. I guess maybe I should have looked in the book before using the printer for the first time. I just think it needs a cancel button.

After dealing with the ink jet printers clogging up after not using for extended periods of time. I am pleased with this printer. It is so fast. I would recommend this to anybody who needs a inexpensive printer for daily, weekly, monthly or yearly use.
