bought this grill at the home store in Columbus Ga. I wanted a simple grill and they talked my wife into this product saying it was their top new product with the belief that we was getting a great deal it worked GREAT for 2yrs then this 4th I uncovered it ( stored it with the cover we bought at home store also) changed the batteries fired it up then added my beef ribs along with wood chips seared my ribs turned heat down to que. NEXT THING I NOTICED TO MUCH SMOKE OPENED GRILL DOOR FIRE EVERYWHERE THOUGHT NO PROBLEM USED MY SPRAYER BOTTLE CONTROLED FIRE CLOSED LID SAME THING OPEN LID FIRE EVERYWHERE BURNT UP ALL MY RIBS TOOK GRATES OUT TO SEE BOTH PANS HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT RUINED MY JULY 4TH COOKOUT!!!

I have had this grill for a few years. Always clean it, always keep the cover on, and always take care of it. While the grill is nice, the components don't seem to last long. After the first year, most of the lettering around the knobs was worn off. I actually purchased a Char-Broil cleaner and that's all I use. The cleaner seemed to take the lettering right off. I have replaced the inside pan (that covers the flame) twice because holes pretty much burned right through it. I also replaced the entire side burner unit because of rust. Now, my right rear wheel snapped right off as I was pushing the grill into place. The black base where the wheels attach is also rusting and the black paint is peeling. I am also experiencing a very low flame so I will probably need to replace the valves or the burners. I think it may be time to buy a new grill and to be honest, it's going to be hard to stick with Char-Broil. I really wish this grill lasted longer.

I had one of the original infrared grills and it was way superior to any grill I've ever had (I am 70 years old) . When I finally got started getting problems I did not want to repair I purchased a Tru-infared. It is a joke and a d6 mn bad one. Not even close to the original inferred design. Is nothing but a regular style grill with a new name and the heat control is Very hot to surface of the sun hot. Very bad design. Many parts have started to break and clean up is almost impossible on it.

Come on Char Broil, get real. I just finished putting this model together and firing it up. I got a great price, however, it took more than 3 hours to put it together with more than 100 screws, bolts, washers, nuts and special parts. This is an unnecessary adult Lego set. Because of the various angles, screw and bolt sizes and torque needed, it requires several different size and length screwdrivers, and preferably a powerdrill-driver. Some of the pieces didn't fit perfect and needed some slight bending to fit. That's ridiculous for a home grill assembly. I'll follow up once I start grilling, but this is a bad start Char Broil. Who designed this thing? It's more conducive to a car mechanic than a backyard BBQ enthusiast. Time to go back to the drawing board on your parts.

This grill is a great design but being discontinued. I had a early version of this grill that lasted from 2009-2016. Firebox rusted out that support burners. If fire box was made was stainless steel would still be working. The new grill however has stainless steel burners and brackets a screws. This design is far superior to first generation of Tru-Infrared. p.S. Keep grill covered.

Unfortunately, I am stuck with last years model, the grates of which are ridiculous. The holes clog immediately, and intensive laborious cleaning is an obligatory action every time you grill. These grates are absurd

I have had this grill for a few months now and it is awesome. Cooks very evenly and faster than other gas grills. There really are no cold spots on this grill. The infrared cooking system ensures that the food is evenly cooked.

I love my grill. We are going on our second year with our grill. We grill at least 4 evenings a week. Until the igniter switch quit working. Grrrrr. I have missed placed my booklet about the grill does anyone know how I might fix this?

Bought the grill in July 2013. Have had no issues; replaced the battery for igniter a few times, but that's it. Did a thorough research prior to purchase, very satisfied.

I bought this grill last year and will replace it this year. I have tried everything I can to stop the grease fires when I cook for more than Three people It does cook very well for two to three people but You better have a fire extinguisher ready for anything with extra grease.
