This is second time in last 4 years that subtracting 1099-B gains due to being a Nominee was difficult to find. It seems you put this as one of the options one year then its a struggle to find it the next year? Also, the ability to go to the Form 8949 and adjust the gains was not available as I did in the past? Please fix this and don't make me spend an hour looking for the solution!

Turbo Tax makes most of income tax preparation easy. Here are some specifics: It is doing a better (IMPROVED!) job with SE taxes, carryovers to state and related SE issues. 2) Rental property is easy. 3) I don't like the way it breaks out medical expenses. The categories asked for are generally inconsistent with insurance bills and make it more difficult to input medical expenses (pharmacy, lab, professional fees etc.) 4) Turbo Tax doesn't break out medical the way Quicken accounts for it. 5) It doesn't give detailed instructions on joint tenancy - you have to look on line for more instructions.

I saved a lot of time by having all my capital gains transactions imported electronically and transferred to the necessary forms. Unfortunately, I still had to go through 150 pages of documents to find all the mistakes. For example, the program disallowed some reimbursed moving expenses because the move occurred at the end of 2016, but the reimbursement occurred at the beginning of 2017. The program only asked if a move occurred in 2017, to which I had to respond "no." Because of this "no" the program autopopulated fields to null sets, disallowing the entire reimbursement without notifying me that there was a problem. Overall, the program is good, but its flaws still would have cost me thousands of dollars if I did not spend 4 hours reviewing all the forms line-by-line.

Been using this for years. I see an improvement every year. I sometimes think I should have a tax accountant do it because I'm not sure if I am covering everything. Maybe next year with the new Tax reform I will go that way. Need to read more on what the this new policy will do to me.

HAD SIMPLE DOCUMENTS TO FILE, SPENT ALMOST 4 HOURS ATTEMPTING TO GET PAST THE 1099 MISC FORM BECAUSE IT WOULD ONLY TAKE IT AS "MY" BUSINESS. I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH TURBOTAX UNTIL THIS YEAR AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. I WILL BE LOOKING FOR OTHER METHODS NEXT TAX SEASON FOR SURE.

The software is very intuitive and makes taxes a breeze! Mine are a bit complicated with having K2's ,losses,other income,etc. The program prompted me to think about deductions I would not have otherwise taken. I'd recommend to most everyone----no need to sit with a preparer again!!

Going through the TurboTax program Step-By-Step is an easy process. But I find the method to go back to make corrections and additions difficult at best. The Jump To options do not follow a robust index that allows me to to jump back to places in the interview where I know I want to go. Instead it gives me a list of comments or questions and answers that do not get me back to where I want to go and are seldom helpful to me anyway. TurboTax is an awesome program. But each year I find it squirrely in some fashion. This year the correction review processes brought me to places that were not useful or irrelevant and I found it hard to go back to make changes to keep the program from continuing to point out useless corrections. Sometimes it took me to places and topics I had never been asked about in the Step-By-Step interview. (!) Mostly the program is pretty robust, but these two kinds of problems made doing my taxes this year a lot harder and more time-consuming than they should have been. Thanks for listening.

The software is pretty good. Ambiguous at times. Two instances come to mind: the software insisted on sending a W2 and I am retired. Secondly in doing my deceased mother-in-laws return it said I could not efile my returns but the software also said that I could not mail in the NY State return.

Been using Turbo Tax for many years. It works fine, but it always leaves me scratching my head over a few details here and there. Not entirely Turbo Tax's fault, of course, as it has to do with my tax forms from Vanguard mutual fund accounts. Still, it would seem that TT could anticipate these details and make things easier. I'm sure I'm not the only person who ends up puzzled here and there each year.

Have been using Turbo Tax for years. I prefer the CD software. Last year I deviated and tried doing it online, it cost more and I found it very aggravating. Bought the CD and am happy again. Only problem I had this year with CD was during download to laptop I had problems with updating, importing etc. I shut down and returned to it the next day and everything went fine. I would recommend Turbo Tax CD Premier.
