First it did not pickup my last years HR Block data from my hard drive. A little annoying. Everything else is pretty straight forward and comprehensive. My only complaint that could have cost me big was it did not calculate rental depreciation. Had to bring up my last years HR Block to see what it should be. Admitted the IRS changed this this year but still. REALLY?? Refunds seemed to match what I expected.

I've used TurboTax for at least a dozen years. Everyone I talk to uses it as well. I love the import from previous year, saves tons of time! Love the ability to easily compare different options for how to report. E.g., should I use state income tax or sales tax option? For me, using the sales tax option is not intuitively advantageous, but it is if you are subject to AMT. About same tax, but don't have to include state income tax refund on next year's return.

this is a brand new computer and we have had no problems with any program but with this (turbo tax) program I have had problems with pages not moving up so I can complete what the program is asking for.the little line on the right side that lets you move the info up/down is gone and I have to play around until sometimes it comes on and if I can move the mouse on it before it disappears then I can move on down the program. very irritating. I guess I will have to find a different program for next year. one that doesn't have this glitch.......././ I don't have any problems advancing this page!!!!!!!

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, and this year was the first time that I have had any real issue. The program locked up just about every 5 minutes. as a result, it took a lot longer to get my taxes finished this year. It wasn't much fun doing everything two or three times. Good Luck

My wife receives royalties from a gas well, so I need the Premium version to handle that. She receives a 1099-MISC form from the well operator. It took me a couple of tries to figure out how to answer the questions properly such that TurboTax went down the right path for those royalties. I ended up deleting that data and starting over. Because I went down a wrong path, TurboTax tried to create a Form 8919. It insisted that I provide answers, even though the form didn't apply. I finally figured out how to delete the form, which allowed me to e-file my return.

no one on one support which is terrible. Should provide live one on one for all products to some degree. Will not recommend for that reason. On line non live support did not help. Had an error message and could not get resolved. Even on line live support at a minimal cost would be helpful.

Everything was great and fairly clear, but I think there could have been a better walkthrough of adjusting mortgage Interest when you a person moves to a new state and converts that original property to a rental property. Also the MD state return was done after my VA return and the MD return did not pull in the correct incomes for both myself and spouse. It only pulled in one income and therefore had us owing a significant amount before I manually correct the income later in the return.

I have used Turbo tax for 10 years and found it technically sound and easy to use. After using a CPA for many years I found I was spending as much time preparing the forms for the CPA as I would just filling out Turbo Tax questionnaire. Also, I could do the tax return on my timetable verus the accountants.

This was the first time I did my own taxes in 6 years, and I was nervous that things would be missed, but comparing to prior returns I do not find that to be the case. There was one number that was much different and it was because of a tax code change, so I wish they would have explained that on "why is there a difference" instead of giving general information on differences, however besides that the process was easy, only a little painful (from gathering all the documents), and I feel confident I did it correctly and will not get audited.

Next year marks 50 years of paying federal taxes. We are mainly do-it-ourselves people. We have slogged through reading tax instructions, going to accountants for messy years and using different tax programs since their infancy. For probably 20 years or so we have been using TurboTax. Twice when we used accountants, I also used TurboTax as well. The pros found a few more deductions but their fees offset the gains. Only been audited twice over the years and neither were in the TurboTax years. I trust them.
