If you have a 1099 that is a hobby, not a business, beware and look up the workaround or special instructions for entering it. Also, for the umpteenth year, TT is trying to sell me Florida State Income Tax program. Florida does not have personal income tax and the humans at TT know this. Yet it keeps reminding me -- you haven't finished your state returns! You still have Florida return! I've complained about this before, but no change. Otherwise, the program is great and I still recommend it. Competitor did not have nearly as good help topics last time I tried it several years ago.

I have investments of several kinds and I have unpredictable, lumpy income (I need to file a Form 2210 to prevent penalties). Although I need to do my own tracking of the 2210 info (I do this with Quicken), the TurboTax part is quite clean and easy - that was not always the case. Further, past problems with things like properly handling ESPP ordinary income are completely resolved. It's getting easier by the year.

I have used TurboTax since it was published by ChipSoft in the 1980s on MSDOS. My returns have gotten progressively more complex until I retired. I have always found the returns to be accurate, have never been audited, and have never required a tax professional, even though I have had a software consulting corporation and rental properties.

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years and have become used to how to best use the product. I like the security it gives you in compiling and submitting the information to the IRS and your state. Overall, Turbo Tax is a solid product and a good program for calculating and submitting your taxes.

I have been using TurboTax since the 2012 tax year. Great product. I really like being able to see the potential refund (or amount owed) as you progress through each section. Once all of my values for insurance, rental property mileages, etc are tabulated the process is pretty simple to get those entered into the software. Very pleased yet again!

TurboTax is very thorough and seems to cover everything, so you don't have to worry about missing anything. I'm sure it addressed tax issues that I never even imagined existed. But sometimes, based on information that I entered, TurboTax would make a decision or perform a calculation without clearly explaining the tax law behind the decision or how the calculation had been performed. So I often found myself wondering where a number came from and was TurboTax handling things correctly. More transparency would be appreciated. Another big area for improvement would be to facilitate analysis of filing status alternatives -- i.e., married filing jointly vs. separately. Currently, the only way to analyze the impact is to create three different tax returns -- one joint, two separate -- then manually review the differences. There's got to be a better, easier way to do this.

I have used Turbo Tax for decades. This was the first year I had to call to verify what I needed to send to the IRS. Tax expert was very helpful. I have never had a problem with the IRS and my taxes, so this seems to be the way to calculate federal taxes.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. They have tailored this each year, making it easier and easier. For a couple years, in the beginning, I used to get my taxes done professionally, then input the info using the program. Each time, I found that it was usually a bit better through Turbo Tax due to questions asked that allowed me more reductions. The "Pros" seemed to go through the same Q&A too, just not as complete. Turbo Tax has definitely continued to refine their product to the best there is. The tool to check your return and rate it for possibility of audit is also a charm! I'd highly recommend Turbo Tax, and Twice on Sunday!!!

I finish and filed very early, but arranged the payment due from my bank account before the due date. Now I can't remember the date I made that arrangement or whether that arrangement was even done correctly. There is no record that I search in Turbo tax. I can only hope that by April 17, my bank record will show it. If mistakes were made, I can't make it up on due date.

I find that when dealing with K1s, particularly when I've sold all or a portion of my holdings, have to go into the forms to get all the data entered. There isn't a place I've found to enter all of the information related to the ordinary income related to the sale. Adjusted figures can be entered in the interview process, but the amount of ordinary income (depreciation recapture, I suppose) has to be entered directly on to the form. There is no guidance provided to accomplish that. (I used Turbo Tax Premier 2017)
