I suggest that you don't let it guide you through everything. That takes forever. But you can easily see what needs review. We spent a lot of time valuing donations to no avail. Would be good to know in advance whether it would be worth it. Same for health care expenses.

Everything was great and fairly clear, but I think there could have been a better walkthrough of adjusting mortgage Interest when you a person moves to a new state and converts that original property to a rental property. Also the MD state return was done after my VA return and the MD return did not pull in the correct incomes for both myself and spouse. It only pulled in one income and therefore had us owing a significant amount before I manually correct the income later in the return.

I used a preparer for a couple of years once I started itemizing deductions, but they were never as thorough as TurboTax. I have been using TurboTax for 15+ years. It can sometimes feel a little daunting, but between the detailed questions and available help, you end up satisfied that you are filing accurately with the best outcome possible.

I have used TT for many years, and keeping the approach the same year-to-year is great. My Suggestion: I do not need or want federal or state estimated tax vouchers, but they are included in most print options, except for selecting every page individually. I would like to see a way to delete then from some of the more inclusive options. As is I get 8 wasted pages.

My only complaint is that after entering and completing a particular deduction category, you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to click on the next deduction category. It seems the "Next Deduction" prompt should be at the top of the page so that you don't have to scroll way down to the bottom every time. Other than that, I love it!

This was my first year with TurboTax and I found it so easy to use , to store and to continue and to file . It makes me sorry to have waited so long to use it and to have spent so much money in the past to use a professional CPA .. Will recommend it to my friends .

Handles all the basics well and can also deal with basic schedule E needs. Does not allow for bundling of rental properties so that you can file as a real estate professional. Home office documenting is unduly complex. It duplicates/doubles your home property tax and the process of moving undoing and moving everything over so that you can deduct a home office is unneccesarily convoluted. Support is of little help in this regard. It's almost like they want to say they offer this function but simultaneously dissuade you from using it.

I've used TurboTax for several years after using H&R Block tax software for several years. While I now prefer TurboTax since our tax situation has become more complicated after moving into retirement. This year I met an insurmountable software problem. After trying many, many of the suggestions on TT's website, I as not able to solve the issue. I filled out a long and tedious form on line with much detail regarding the PC, but after 3 days of trying things I finally was able to reload everything to another PC and was able to send the 2 returns immediately. I have no clue what caused the problem with our other PC.

I first starting using TurboTax after having problems with a couple accountants. I've now used it for many years and always come back. I've used it for personal, C Corp, S Corp, LLC, small business, estate, and Trust taxes and it has always performed well, made the process less daunting, and was accurate. I've never been audited due to a mistake by TurboTax. There are a couple areas where I believe more on-screen explanation would be helpful, such as whether or not my spouse is considered to be covered by a High Deductible Health Plan when they're covered under mine. However, a quick search on TurboTax's AnswerXchange provided the needed answer. Thank you TurboTax!

Entry of common data (1099's, etc) is easy and with few problems. The process of assigning state of origin to tax-exempt interest is difficult -- my information was in percentage, but program wanted dollar amounts. I only needed to consider state of origin for states that I might have to file state returns on (2), but the instructions are not clear on how to do this, or if the way I chose to do it is correct. It seems that the state returns didn't get that information correctly. I purchased the "premier" product so that I could enter data from schedule K-1 (1065), but the process was difficult, unclear, and when I had questions, they were not answered in the program. However, overall, for the money, there probably is not a better or comparable product out there.
