Prior to the pandemic I lifted in gym 6-7xs a week. Im a woman, but so many of the other machines were simply band resistance, which don't give the results that I want. Now my home gym is complete, having this machine gave me what i can't easily get with dumbells and a barbell. Glad I purchased before price hike. In june I paid less than $230. It took a few hours to put together but my complaint was we had to go buy a couple of bolts and spacers that were missing.

just got in mail Nov 1st week.love the Home gym.with YouTube help install in 2 to 3 hrs.i should give 5 stars instead 4. only one thing i dont like front side of gym is very light in weight. when i do arm exercises and lift tricep Bar gym lift up with tricep bar. not big problem i used U Clamp and Nail it orund gym bottom floor pipe and it work.i definitely recommend to everyone.

Very nice machine, Do yourself a favor and go to YouTube and ask how to put together the Weider 2980. A little known fact, the 2nd to the last pulley is a dual pulley (Side by Side). Enjoy!! Another thing to consider to put it on is, I went to Tractor supply and bought a pad that they use for Horse stalls(It's black and measures about 72” L by 48” W) looks like a piece of thick tar paper but durable.

This is a great machine with an amazing price tag. My wife and I wanted to have our own gym, where we knew that the sweat and germs on the equipment were our own. Well, it is great equipment like this, where the price is kept to a minimum while providing sufficient quality, that enabled us to do just that. It was a relatively simple assembly. However, note that, with such a great price, just about every part must be packed efficiently and the assembly MUST be a bit more involved (the cost of consumers wanting the lowest possible price). The estimated time of 5 to 6 hours that other reviewers have shared is about right, with the instructions being pretty solid (one error in the instructions that did exist was mention of a large washer that was NOT part of our parts...not a problem, but did confuse me for about 30 seconds). The machine works really well and provides plenty of options for a good workout and toning/strength training. My wife and her mom use it A LOT (mom is 80 years old) for their 3 times-a-week workout. Be sure to buy 1 pack of the Gold's Gym mats to go with this, which Walmart also sells at a great price. They fit perfectly under the machine and, if you place them PRIOR TO assembling the machine, it will make things much easier. The look is also great, so we purchased the matching Weider sit-up bench. We are glad to have found this perfect balance between price and high quality!

Good if you already have muscles. My wife and I are seniors and are able to use machines at the gym when set to relatively light weights. For some exercises even the lightest weight was too much for me to budge. We're going have our trainer look at it next week, and we'll return it if she thinks it is not for us. In addition the cable system was 1 1/2" too short. Customer service was nice, but they said the only solution is to let the cables stretch for one to two weeks at maximum weight tension. I found this surprising since none of the reviews mentioned this, and the manual only addresses the case where the cable is too long.

This is a very well designed, versatile work out station. Assembly was easy with very well written instructions. It is made with a thinner metal but for the money you can't beat it. All exercises work well, cables run smooth and true, no worry of cables jumping off the pulleys. I purchased a tricep rope and ankle strap and can do most any exercise now. Highly recommended.

Product was delivered in 2 shipments on 2 different dates. Package was damaged but product inside was okay except one piece had scratches on it. It took sometime to assemble particularly the cable assembly took sometime. After assembly the product looks good.

Extremely laborious to setup but that is understandable. However, I disliked that they didnt give any spare parts for the small parts. After abt 6 to 8 hours of setup work, I accidentally dropped a 12mm spacer inside the upright pole. I can never get it out unless I remove and put back everything! So for need of a small 12mm spacer I am unable to complete the assembly.

Good! The assembly instructions were clear and the assembly process took me about 5-6 hours total which isn't bad. The biggest downside is that the parts aren't labeled so you kind of just guess the parts based on the shape and the picture, but that's not a big issue in all honesty. It arrived in 2 boxes, 1 of the boxes is very heavy so be careful when getting it into your house. The quality seems good. The welds are proper and nothing was damaged. Works as intended, the cables are high quality. No complains, would recommend! You get a LOT of machine for the price you pay!

For the price it's fine but not great. After assembly the machine does not lay stable on the ground. You need to be careful when using to make sure it doesn't topple over, especially when using the front cables in front of the leg pull ups. The main cable came damaged and therefore not a smooth flow of the weights.
