Thanks to the easy reviews by others, comparing units and cost, I felt Frigidaire was the right choice. Not disappointed what so ever and super glad to come home to a reliable chill spot. Installation was easy enough if you have someone with window unit experience (highly recommend)

I bought this unit this year August and by end of September it was not blowing out cool air. Not sure if it's because it's the mechanical type because my other Frigidaire units last years! I bought it for my son's dorm and they only allowed 5000 BTU units.

My son has an XBox and when it is running his room gets steaming hot. This little unit cools the room off great! Sometimes when he is not home I set it to super cool and open his door. It cools off the entire upper floor (two small bedrooms and a master bedroom).

I have had this appliance for about eight weeks. It chills the air more effectively than I expected. However, the most surprising feature is the air flow director which actually allows the user to push the air where you want it at any given time. Thanks for this effective and welcome product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As we were adjusting the air conditioner in the window, my wife couldn't get the right angle to raise the window. As I raised my hands to push the window up, the air conditioner fell out the window and landed on the ground (fortunately we were on the first floor). With great care we retrieved the unit and finished the installation. Voila! It turned right on and is still cooling us off!!

I'm a 64 yr old woman and installed this by myself. Sits right on my window however at first I didn't think it would. It's tilted slightly upward because window sill is not that wide and probably could have used a support but it works fine for my bedroom. If I had to critique it negatively, it would be the directional part. It does not point straight ahead and the levers are curved to go left or right and not straight out of the unit. It's still a good little unit. I made it work!

I have a tiny apartment and I needed a little help cooling down the bedroom. The living room air conditioner was not enough. Turns out my new a/c had enough oomph to cool down the whole place by itself. It is easy to install and easy to use! Love it!!

I am not quite 2 year old Border Collie. My mommy and daddy purchased this 5,000 btu unit for our bedroom and it is the best whether I am snuggled up with them in bed at night or strecthed out under the bed when I need some me time. It is ultra quiet and comfortable and I can sleep like a baby.
