Easy to install, and it automatically syncs if you have multiple cameras. But the app is horrible. It frequently disconnects, fights between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (causing delays in accessing video,) and is simply slow/buggy overall.

This is my second mini for a second car installation. First one has been in the other car for 5 years with no issues at all. I like the fact that it's tiny and inconspicuous. I don't need a screen on the camera because you can watch and transfer the video using the Garmin app. Good value for the money.

I've owned this for a month now, and still cannot connect to it on my smart phone (iphone 16). I have tried everything and the closest I get is it showing video thumbnails, but, of course, they will not play as connectivity is not there. I bought this to replace a Vofio based on the small size. But small size is no good if it cannot connect. Yes, I can remove the card and view on a computer, but the mount is so senstive, you are never sure of the angle of capture as you really need to see what is being recorded with the card in. Garmin is a known brand, but they offer a low-quality product in this instance.

I’ve owned Garmin products for nearly two decades and appreciate the fact that they’re high quality products made in Taiwan. I bought two Dash Cam Mini 3, one for each car. Installation and setup were very easy. The most important factor is to buy a high quality micro SD card. The camera requires a high endurance model to support the constant recording and rewriting of the memory. Sam’s doesn’t sell these. They’re also more expensive than a standard or high performance card. I suspect that many of the problems that folks experience with image quality or recording issues are tied using the incorrect card. In fact, I was quite reticent to purchase these based on all of the negative reviews. Six months after installation, and lots of driving, I haven’t had an issue with either camera. My only complaints are: (1) viewing the videos through the app is really really slow. It’s much easier to remove the micro sd card or contact directly to the camera with a usb-c cable. (2) The image quality is 1080 instead of 4k. This may present some challenges with trying to identify license plates at night or low visibility conditions. Garmin should update the sensor to support 4k. However, having the dash cam as-is still provides good peace of mind with solid video evidence.

Good dash cam. Recordings are very clear. Sometimes live view struggles to connect, but that's a secondary feature.

So fare after a couple weeks it's working great! Already had to save a video of hitting a dear and the video came out great!
