Disappointed.

I had a 13 year old Vizio that had fluorescent back lighting and was only HD. It had a very good picture that I could manually adjust but it was loosing brightness and there was some light leak around the top edge. I thought surely this new LED 4K set would at least equal or hopefully best the old set but I was wrong. I watch 90% streaming programing through HDMI inputs and there is no manual picture adjustment available, just picture modes like 'Vivid', Bright, Calibrated etc. These only allow Backlight and brightness adjustments but not contrast, saturation, tint. One program will look OK but the next will be so dark that it's barely watchable and I'm constantly trying to adjust the picture for each program. I have an old 22" HD set that has a better picture then this set. This set does OK with well lit sports programing or live broad cast like golf and Nascar. You can set manual color, contrast, tint if you watch the Vizio free TV channel. Wish I'd never bought this TV. That's one small mistake for man. One giant flop for Vizio.

Amazing Picture, could have manufacturing defects

Picture was fantastic when I got it to work using my cell phone. The unit I got had a bad remote or IR receiver. I didn't want to use my phone as a remote all the time though. I decided to go with another set after the upset of packing it back up. But honestly I think the picture was better on this TV. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

Best tv for the money.

Very good picture quality. Lives up to reviews. Made two adjustments. Using the picture button on remote change the setting to bright otherwise the colors are too dull. Also, using the menu button adjust the audio by turning on sound leveling. It adds quality to the sound so that a sound bar isn't needed.

Great Picture Quality for the price.

I had originally bought on sale for only $598, and it looks Amazing. Picture quality for the price is actually surprising great, and love how it supports Apple airplay. Very bright, and contrast is great. For how much I paid for this tv, it really surprised me. It's a budget tv, that doesn't look like a budget tv. It competes with the likes of lg, Samsung, and Sony's higher end TVs. Only it's far cheaper. The user interface is pretty sluggish to today's standards, but given I already had a fire tv stick 4k, it wasn't that big of a problem for me. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Good Tv. Good price point

It's an ok tv. For the price its good but there others you should spend a little extra on and you'd get a better picture and faster interface. I've seen several reviews complain about sound. Get a soundbar, powered speakers or home theater. These are not built for great sound. It looks the best in a dark room. If your room has a lot of light, it will take away from the picture.

Great picture, but poor sound and wide stand.

Great picture but since the sound comes out of the rear the sound was poor. Paired it with the Vizo all-in-one sound bar and now it's a great center piece to our family room. Also, I had to buy a separate stand because the legs were too far apart to fit on our TV cabinet. Our previous Vizio had a center stand, so it easily fit. So check the width to see if it will fit your cabinet or stand. Choosing the M8 over the M7 was worth the extra $$$ for me.

I think it might be a good TV

The TV came in but it looked like it had been used. The back of the TV looked somewhat aged like it was either on display or returned. I paid for a new one. That would have probably been overlooked but the screen has some DSE and banding. I'm looking at returning it.

Dead pixels everywhere

The fist tv that I got had dead pixels all over the screen and the sound was piping. At least 15 dead pixels. the replacement tv had dead pixels too. There's at least 10. It's really frustrating when walmart is the only company that is selling this tv now. They just ship it without and packaging. Just the Vizio's original box. No signature required either so someone can just take it and know what kind of tv it is. I'm coming from an old sony bravia 40" tv from 10 years ago so it's frustrating when the tvs I'm getting don't work. I've done lost of research for what tv to get and this is the best tv for around $550 from a name brand company.(sony, samsung,lg,vizio.) I don't buy other brank tvs that the good ones. now I'm wondering if vizio is good or not. It seems theres a quality control issue. Going to return the second one and try again. Third time's the charm? We will see. I expect to buy a TV and not have any problems especially a $600 one.( All the pictures are from my second tv)

So We bought this TV, to replace an old one. Picture seems great, But we have had it just over a week. And we constantly have to reset the TV, so that the apps work. Never had an issue with my old one doing this. So it is getting returned. For this reason.

Great color quality; high functionality!

I've only had the TV for a couple of weeks now and am still evaluating the product. So far we are generally happy with it. The only complaint so far is that the TV sound quality is mediocre. It would appear that Vizio compells you to buy a soundbar to complete the package.
