Non-existent support. Airplay buggy.

If you review the Youtube "How to use Apple AirPlay 2 | VIZIO SmartCast™" you'll find dozens of complaints from Vizio customers that the Airplay function is buggy or doesn't work at all. I wish I'd seen it before buying. In my case it works with my iPhones. Doesn't work with my Macs (OS X High Sierra). Yes, I'm using the same wifi network for Mac and TV. I've also done a factory reset of the TV. I contacted Vizio and I'll have to say they have some of the most mindless drones for "support reps" and "support supervisors" I've ever dealt with. All they know how to do is read off a script. For every comment or objection I made they just repeated the same script over and over again. They refuse to listen. Talk about gaslighting! Every time I asked to speak to a supervisor or have the problem escalated they just gaslighted me again. I spent over an hour on the phone only to hear them say their "resolution to the problem is you'll have to call Apple for support." And of course they weren't about to pay for the $35 minimum charge Apple requires for phone support. I'm an Apple Certified Consultant and have been for over 25 years. So I know a few things about Apple. I can say with 100% certainty this is not Apple's problem. In order for Vizio to even begin the process of writing code to support Airplay they had to become an Apple Developer to get Apple's specs for Airplay. If in writing code Vizio didn't follow Apple's Airplay specifications precisely their product won't work properly, and this is clearly what happened here. Vizio screwed up, but rather than owning it, or referring it to their own product development team, they're telling customers to call Apple for support! I've bought Vizio products before, including 2 prior TVs and 2 soundbars. Never again. I won't patronize an incompetent business that gaslights their customers when they need product support.

Hello Reformedude, to get Airplay to work when using your Mac it would require macOS 10.14.5 or higher to be able to stream your content. If you are able to upgrade your Mac operating system and you are still not able to Airplay your content please reach out to our customer support again at support.vizio.com and click on 'Contact Us'.

GREAT PICTURE & SOUND

I had this M658 for about 1 week. Feet were too big for my console & didn't want to hang on wall. Got legs for it from Menards. Having problems with TV coming on (no timers set) during middle of night and other daylight times. Hope disabling CEC will remedy this one problem. When changing source the feature changes very quickly i.e. HDMI to antenna etc

Very Nice Picture Quality

when I bought this I was primarily concerned about picture quality. It was rated very high in some of the reviews for watching movies. The TV does not disappoint. I have not use the sound from the TV because I have my own speaker system. But as far as the picture quality, very good to excellent. I was a little disappointed it doesn't have on screen guide when using TV signals through an antenna. Other than that it is a really fantastic TV.

Great but technical difficulties

It'll randomly turn off while I'm watching television. When I turn it back on, there's no audio. I try messing with the audio settings but nothing works. I usually have to unplug the power cord, wait, then plug it back in to make the audio come back. And even that doesnt work 100% of the time

Hello Allen1, this behavior is very odd as the television should provide a clear video and audio output. We’d really love the opportunity to have our tech support team run through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can get the TV up and running for you. When you have a free moment, they’re available through text message, chat, or over the phone. Just go to support.VIZIO.com and click on ‘Contact Us’.

Great tv.

Bought this to replace my 52 LG and I was surprised by the difference. I played with the settings for colors and made a great improvement. Too bad that the one that enjoys it most is my 4year old and his cartoons. Have an 8 year old Vizio 32 inch work like new hope this one does the same.

Very good! Just not a huge difference from the M55

Bought this as a slight upgrade to my 2017 M55. Expected a little but more of an upgrade with the Quantum, but have to admit, there isn't too much of a difference in the picture quality. However, the few areas that are improved, are much improved. Had this TV about 3 weeks now. Not worth the upgrade as the M55-E0 was stellar already. If in the market for a TV and looking to upgrade this TV can't be beat for the price!

I ditched my apple TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been surprisingly impressed with my M-series. The support for 4k has allowed me to keep using my Apple TV subscription without having to physically be tethered to box I have to replace. Thank you Vizio for making such a great product.

Great TV

I bought this TV because my TV took a dump. I had a very well known name brand TV that was way more expensive than the Vizio. But I read the reviews and purchase the TV.I am so happy with my choice. Not only did I get a great TV I did not go into debt.

This one( a replacement due to the smart part of the tv malfunctioning), like the one I had before has great picture quality, the smartcast part works a little faster than before, though not much faster, and I do like the ability to go to smartcast and be able to view free tv. I have liked Vizio products since I first did research on my first Vizio 47" tv over 13 years ago, and I really liked the picture quality of that one, even though it was only 1080p, I also like the fact that it was not a smart tv, due to the fact, that I never had a problem with any function of the tv until about a year ago when one of the hdmi inputs started not working, luckily I had 3 other hdmi inputs that still worked great. I only replaced the 47" because I wanted bigger and I wanted 4k. Hopefully this Vizio tv will last for decades to come, like my first one(still working, one of my nieces has it and is enjoying it too).

Very Good Picture

Over the first month of owning it has been a pretty good tv. Had an issue with white lines drifting down the right side of the screen, but the next day the issue was gone and have not seen it again. Still use a Firestick for apps because there are only limited apps on the tv itself. Overall I am happy with it.
