What a bargain. After searching on the internet for led shop lights a friend suggested Sam's Club. I got prices well over $150 all over the internet but Sams club had the perfect light for less than $40. No reason to stray, Sam's club comes through again!

Great output and efficiency, buzzing ruins it

If you're sensitive to noises like I am, this light has some horrible buzzing sounds coming from it that made me feel like this light was stealing my soul. Also has some 60hz flicker. I will test for one week to see if the problem goes away with the buzzing as could be a burn in issue, but would not recommend for a workshop if you're sensitive to the flickering.

Super bright for 2-car garage

I installed 2 of these in my garage this past weekend. Pros: - All installation hardware is included, including S-hooks and screw-hooks and drywall anchors to anchor into the ceiling. - Weight - The units are lightweight, and use of the plastic drywall anchors seems to be sufficient for hanging the lights without having to drill into a ceiling joist. - Super bright - Lights up my 2 car garage just fine - Price - The price of these lights were lower through Sams club than anywhere else I could find. Cons: - No flush mount option. I had to loop the chains to bring the lights closer to the ceiling, but would preferred to have a flush mounting option. - Ground-plug - I initially planned to screw in an outlet into the existing basic lamp holder and plug in these lights, but these lights have a ground plug, so I had to install new outlet boxes in the ceiling. - Too white - as bright as the lights are, they are almost pure white. This may be a turn off to some.

Bright light, reasonable price

I purchased the 2 pack of lights so that I could evaluate them for use in a new garage I'm building. I installed these in my existing garage replacing the plain incandescent bulbs that were in there. The lighting is very bright. The construction seems decent, and everything worked right out of the box. Obviously, I will just have to wait and see on the durability of these lights.

1 of 2 did not last a year at about 4 hr per day

I bought 2 of these and installed them less than a year ago (don't remember exact date, but it was this year (2016)). One I rarely use, and is still working great (bright lighting, etc.), the other started flickering intermittently about 2 months ago, and now it is dead. I estimate that it lasted about 1200 hours, no where near the life I expected.

Great Product and price to match ~!!!

Wanting to replace my old shop lights because the old "tube bulbs" were always burning out, or flickering and in general, just not a very pleasant working atmosphere.....I was on the "lookout" for these new "LED shop lights but on initial investigation, found them to be to expensive, and so....just put the project on hold....Then online one morning I checked and found them at Sam's club and, at a more than reasonable price....I ordered ( 2), and in a week they were delivered....Now...the "acid test" I was honestly surprised to see how well constructed they were. light in weight, and in 5 minutes were ready to hang.....When plugged in, the illumination was twice or even more than one my old shop lights and 100% better than I expected. I went to Sams in Maine, and purchased 8 more and now my entire shop area...looks fantastic and without a single corner that is not bathed in bright light !!!!! Now on top of all that...they will last more than 5,000 hours left on continually 24/7.....Mine will be on only hours a day so the cost ( now pennies a day for all of them ) will be quite noticeable......Thumbs up on this item !!! More than worth it !!!!!!! You won't be disappointed !

Good value, but BEWARE of electrical hazard/flaw

I like how lightweight these are and the brightness is more than adequate. Hangs up exactly like the old style T-12 fluorescent shop lights. One small problem and you must be conscious of this flaw. DO NOT HANG THESE LIGHTS PLUGGED IN. I was hanging two lights and one for no particular reason was plugged in and switched on; it shouldn't have been a big deal. Well BAM I was shocked and tripped the breaker. Apparently the provided S hook will make contact with an exposed live conductor in the housing when you try to loop the hook through the hole provided. They should have provided a loop for the hook that will not go near anything that is live. This is a major flaw. I would have given it a 5 star, because outside the near death experience, this shop light works great and a good value.

Excellent laundry light

The washer and dryer in my folks house is located in the basement like many are in northern states (MN), and the lighting over the two appliances consisted of a single 200 watt incandescent bulb. I didn't even know they made bulbs of that type in that wattage! Well that bulb produced a blinding light when you saw it, but not very good light for your work space. So I bought one of these led lights and put it up today. Wow, what a difference. The lighting is so much brighter, covering a larger area near the washer and dryer, and colors of the clothes appear much more accurately than with the old 200 watt fire hazard. So they now have better lighting, for about 1/5 the electricity. Mom is thrilled.

Great value even for its parts!

Was looking for some cool white LED lighting elements for an above kitchen cabinets indirect lighting project, and similar-sized LED light strips were going for $50-$100 each. These shop lights contained two strips for just under $37 so I bought a couple, gambling that it could be easily disassembled for its parts. Sometimes you just get lucky. The housing is extruded anodized aluminum and the end caps are secured with some small screws. Remove the caps and the LED's can be easily slid out from the fixture. It comes with a small circuit board which is part of one of the end caps which I guess is a voltage regulator which you need to keep - the other end cap can be tossed. A little splicing and soldering later you can use these LED's for any project. A few observations - first these things are really bright, like the other reviews mentioned. I bought two units which gave me four LED elements, I probably could have done just as well for my project with a single shop light with its two elements. Oh well, live & learn. Second this has a three prong plug but I'm not quite sure why you need to ground it for an indoor application so I just added a two prong polarized adapter at the end and it works fine. Third, these Lights of America LED items at Sam's Club tend to be in & out items (not regular ongoing stock), so if you want one, buy it now because it may not be there a few months from now and might be something they pretty much only sold to Sam's Club like the PAR 38 LED bulbs LOA did about six years ago (i.e. good luck finding it even on the internet after it's gone at Sam's) which surprised me at the time.

XLNT FIXTURE FOR THE PRICE

Bought (2) of these to illuminate my fishing rod wrapping tables. Excellent brilliance, and easy to hang. The chain pull is also a feature that is exactly what I needed. I have (3) similar fixtures made by Feit in my garage, without pulls, and they cost about $20 more per fixture. These are a MUCH better deal all around. The only adverse thing about them I would say, would be the length of the cord. Had to use an extension cord, but not a huge deal.
