Verified Purchase

I previously owned a farming instinct but wanted something smaller. The Venu has all the features I used on my instinct in a much more comfortable package for someone with a smaller wrist.

Poor Battery Life at 4 months and no refund.

I’ve only had the watch for four months and the battery will not even last for a simple walk. I am used to Apple watches and while this has more eye appeal it is not as user-friendly. The seller will not offer a refund at this point so I have to stick with Garmin with an exchange. Hopefully I just had a lemon and grateful for an exchange by Garmin. Will most likely go back to Apple next time

Not completely satisfied...

I won't say I hate the watch, but I'm not thrilled with it either. The biggest positive takeaway is the battery life. I can't see how anyone would complain about that. Beats my Apple Watch hands down. Now for the negatives... According to my Garmin Watch, I'm half dead. My body battery NEVER climbs above 50, even after sleeping. Which brings me to my next point. My sleep score is never above a 50. Whether I get 6 hours or 9 hours, my sleep is sometimes poor, most times fair, and only once or twice was it good. I rarely toss and turn, I never recall waking up, yet I can't seem to sleep well. When I wore an Apple Watch for the same thing, I seemed to have considerably higher scores. My stress levels run rather high as well, even though I am retired and have no stress that I am aware of. I average between 50 and 60 on a normal day, 100 while driving. (That one I can see). Truth is, I went with a Garmin for two reasons. One, the extraordinary battery life. The Apple Watch is harder to work with because I wear it all day, but then still want to wear it to bed to track my sleep. Charging can sometimes be an issue. There is no issue with the Garmin. The other reason I went with it is because after almost 20 years, I switched from iPhone to a Samsung/Android device that wouldn't have played well with my Apple Watch. I love the Android device, but wish the Garmin did more than it does. I also wish I had a way of knowing if the sleep, stress, and body battery results were anywhere near accurate.

I Left Fitbit for Garmin — and I’m Not Going Back

I recently switched from Fitbit to the Garmin Venu 3S, and I am extremely happy with the change. What has surprised me most is how useful the watch is in everyday life. I can glance at my wrist and see the weather and my next calendar event—two things I used to ask my Amazon Echo about constantly. Text notifications are also genuinely useful. When a website sends me a verification code, it appears right on my wrist instead of requiring me to go find my phone. I’m also enjoying the health and activity information much more than I expected. The Body Battery sounded gimmicky to me at first, but it has actually corresponded remarkably well with how energetic or depleted I feel. Intensity Minutes have been fascinating because they’ve shown me how much moderate activity I get simply from everyday life—yard work, stairs, and even my habit of attacking household chores in 15-minute bursts. I like being able to see my heart rate in real time and learn more about what my body is doing without having to treat every bit of movement as a formal “workout.” The watch itself is attractive, comfortable, and easy to customize. I’ve changed what appears on the watch face, adjusted how long the display stays on, customized buttons and shortcuts, and turned off features I don’t find useful. Battery life has also been good enough that charging it briefly while I shower works well for me. Not every Garmin metric is valuable to me. Sleep Coach hasn't told me anything particularly interesting, and I'm still deciding whether Recovery will be useful. But that's actually something I like about the Garmin: there is a lot available, and I can choose the information that matters to me rather than having to use everything. I bought the Venu 3S primarily as a replacement for my Fitbit. I didn't expect to enjoy it nearly this much. It has become one of those rare pieces of technology that makes several small parts of my day noticeably easier.

Perfect Upgrade!

I recently upgraded from the Vivoactive 5 to the Venu 3s and could not be happier with my new watch! I love the added functionality that comes with it, specifically the ability to track Hiking activities and sync with my Natural Cycles app for cycle tracking! Along with these functions, I was looking for a more elevated smart fitness watch, and the Venu 3s fits perfectly in this category. I looks nice enough for daily wear, but still has all of the functions needed for my running and hiking workouts.

Best Upgrade!

I have found this to be a substantial upgrade to my Venu SQ. I am getting 6-7 days of charge. Love the new features. My biggest complaint is the 18mm band. I feel like this is too small for a 41mm watch face and I have a small wrist. I have also found that if my phone is not close, I am unable to delete my notices-not a deal breaker but...

Even Grandmas Love Garmins!

I love my Venu 3S! I purchased it about a month ago as a replacement for my very tired Venu 2S. I really like the Venu watches, and the S versions are great for my little wrist. I'm a long-time Garmin watch owner and my first was the FR70 in 2011. Every watch release just gets better! The screen is super bright, which is very nice on my old eyes. I love the constant upgrades to the health metrics and the new features that connect with my phone. I have not used them all yet. One thing I love is that when I get text messages on my phone that have pictures of my grandbaby, I can see them on my watch! I even made a cute Connect IQ Face It watch face with the cutest picture of my grandbaby. I'm hoping to have many more Garmin watches in the future that will help me stay healthy for my growing family!

Poor user interface

Poor user interface. The first email you get from Garmin is good. Don't download the user manual as jumps into details about activities before they tell you some of the basic menu moves. They kind have got things backwards. It is very hard to learn how to use this watch by trial a error like you can a Fitbit.

Fabulous Watch- But Not for Golfers

My husband LOVED his new Garmin watch. The features are wonderful. He had a FitBit for over 10 years, and was looking for something with extended battery life and great metrics- this watch is all that AND it is very attractive. However, the first time that he wore the watch was on a golf day. Half way through the round, he noticed that the face was cracked (there had been no impact incidents). Garmin does not replace watch faces- so we returned the watch, thinking it was a fluke. When He got his replacement Garmin watch, we put a face protector on the watch, before he put it on. Then the exact same thing happened. The face cracked on the first hole. Seems to be a design issue.

Fabulous Switch over!!!

Purchased a refurbished one from Beach Camera with a 2yr warranty. The watch is flawless. Coming from the Samsung Galaxy all I can say is, do the switch. I was sick of the constant charging, every single day!!! My new Venu is gorgeous, lighter, many more functions, simpler and at 7 days the battery is still 43%. My Galaxy was doen to counting steps and monitorin sleep sometimes. That's it. I'm overjoyed at being able to actually use a smart watch!!
