[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed by this soil. I normally mix topsoil with compost, potting soil, seaweed and various other ingredients to create my raised bed mix. Living on the rocky coast of Maine, I have to supply the soil if I want to grow anything.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my stepmom who is big into gardening and flower beds. She has raised garden beds and I just knew she'd love to try this out! Since the bag is a lot smaller than her beds she had to do some mixing. That is one downside it's a smaller bag so you may need multiple to fill a space—which the bag mentions how many you may need. When it came in it had no spill out and seemed fairly solid and dry. It crumbled easily and mixed well. I don't know fully the difference in nutrients from what she was using but it did its job and things grew so I think it has plenty! I think she'd definitely buy this again or use it again if given to her (:

Was a little difficult to scoop with what I had, but not so much that I couldn't get it out of the bag; more packed together than hard texture. My plant bed is now fresh to finish winter, and will be ready for new plants in Spring. I liked the feeling of the mix in my hands, that it was simple to spread, and simple to wash off once I was done. High quality ingredients used, so I am confident my plants will grow healthy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this kinda late in the season (almost November) but thanks to obscene changes in climate due to fossil fuel abuse of the earth, our garden was still a little green. Having its last gasp of life, if you will. The products works great, and it's never too late to add some nutrients to the soil, especially when it's so close to the part of the season when everything dies and nourishes the earth anyway.

It offers great value for everyday gardening, and with a little tweaking (addition of compost or fine soil, maybe a soil test). This soil performs very well in my garden.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised by how light and fluffy the Back to the Roots “Better” Raised Bed Mix felt right out of the bag. The consistency is soft with no heavy clumps, and it doesn't compact easily, which makes it great for raised beds. My plants established roots quickly and the soil retained moisture without getting soggy. It also has a clean texture with no large wood chunks like other mixes I've tried. The bag is easy to handle and the weight wasn't overwhelming. Overall, it made planting super simple and my veggies are thriving.
