[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed by this soil. I normally mix topsoil with compost, potting soil, seaweed and various other ingredients to create my raised bed mix. Living on the rocky coast of Maine, I have to supply the soil if I want to grow anything.

I got this mix at the end of the planting season, instead of getting some broccoli seeds or something to plant, I think I'll keep it in it's fantastic packaging before I use it to plant for the spring. It's made in the USA and is PEAT free. The package it comes in is nice and sturdy, making it easier to save the mix until it's ready to be used. It says it will "grow bigger plants", but that is something I will have to wait to figure out. I detected no unusual scent or odor coming from the package. Overall, this Back to Basics Organic Raised Bed Mix seems like a good quality mix that comes in a convenient package that makes it easy to store and use later.

You can see the spores through the soil so it definitely maximizes nutrition. It’s very airy and light feel and even when the soil is pressed down it doesn’t compact the air flow for the roots to reach! It’s not a heavy soil, and doesn’t have bark so you’re able to have the soil form to the shape of the pot.

But looking at the ingredients I'm really impressed and it seems like it will be great for my raised beds. The bag definitely has good weight and I like the packaging.

Has nutritients for a healthy growth. Good consistency and no insects inside. I will get my planter readg and go for the season!

The texture is light, fluffy, and easy to work with, and my plants took off almost immediately after planting. Everything looks healthier and more vibrant, and the mix holds moisture well without getting soggy. I also appreciate that the pH seems well balanced, which makes it easier for herbs, veggies, and fruits to absorb nutrients and grow strong. It is peat free and includes plant food, yucca extract, and gypsum, which gives plants a great start. If you want strong growth and an easy to use soil for edible plants, this mix is a great choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an easy to work with soil and I like that it has the mushroom in it which should hopefully help my plants thrive. Since it’s so cold out it will have to be used on a bigger scale this spring but for now- repotting all of my indoor plants for the winter. Hopeful they will thrive in this soil. Will revisit with updates
