The thing that surprised me the most was when I purchased it I placed it in my garage before bringing it to the yard because it was raining. While in the garage for 2 days there was a great deal of bugs that found their way out of the dirt.

Living in California this is not unheard of as my tomato’s were just finishing. I procrastinated a few weeks and we had an unseasonably bold fall/winter so I did not use it until recently. I thought this would have dried out or be less than optimal but it came out of the bag nice black and crumbly with still enough moisture in it that I was able to use it right away. I have not tried an organic dirt before and thought I should give it a try as I try to keep chemicals out of my food. I had planted garlic in this two weeks ago and I already have happy green shoots coming up.
