Previously I had another brand of leaf shredder that died of old age and I found that the Sun Joe shredder operated better and did a better job. I would definitely buy it again.

I bought a sun Joe shredder in hopes that it would shred straw. I am very impressed on how well it worked. It seems very powerful and I like that a garbage bag fits around it. This is just what I needed for my compost pile.

This is worth every penny. I would tell everyone to purchase instead of bagging 15 55gallon commercial bags these was 5 and great to put on top of garden as fertilizer.

The motor is powerful, wish i had bought it long ago. I used it to shred leaves in the fall and turn them into compost for my garden. Great for leaves, not for twigs and small branches...

Price was good, shipping was quick. It works as good as expected, and accurate to the reviews I read. It does a good job, I'm glad I bought it. It throws quite a bit of dust, a mask is a must.

Very easy to assemble and use. Used it for the first time. Shredded ~150 kg (10 large garbage bags) of damp leaves in 3 hrs. Works best, if you feed 1-2 handful of leaves at the time. After all work, both cutting lines are almost intact.

When the description says 16:1 - it means it. If my goal was to reduce 16 bags of leaves to 1 bag this unit would definitely do the trick! The description indicated that it had settings and I'd hoped to be able to control various degrees of mulch consistency. However, my goal was to make "leaf mulch" ... instead I made "leaf dirt". Guess I'm looking for a 3:1. My 20 year old leaf hog (with blades) works perfect ... just a little time consuming emptying the bags. I returned my Sun Joe but I would still highly recommend this yard tool.

This does a pretty good job on dry leaves, but wet leaves tend to be completely shredded that they end up in a mush that needs frequent cleaning. I have had this for 5 years, and did not use it two of those years. It would not start when I went to turn it on this year, after removing the motor housing and and securing wires, it started to run, but if I turn it off or move it, then I have to remove motor housing and repeat the process. It's very frustrating likely to fail. I won't be buying another for this reasonthat they don't offer any replacement parts for the motor, which is clearly the item most son.

Piece of garbage!Do not buy

I bought this for grinding my horses hay so he can eat is easier. I'm amazed how great this product performs. it does eat trimmer line!
