I've been eating these patties for 29 years. They were one of my favorite foods, and I used to cook them and add them to so many dishes such as omelets, taco salad, mini burgers, and as a pizza topper. I ate these patties every day. They are barely palatable now and have zero distinguishing flavor. Pan frying them is not a good experience. They smoke and burn even at a lower temperature. They should no longer be called sausage patties because the sausage flavor, and even salt, has been removed. Kellogg's, you did us dirty. Please go back to the previous recipe. No one else makes their sausage patties as well as you used to.

I turned vegetarian when I was 5, inspired by my dad and other family members. Every single morning my dad would sit me on the kitchen counter while he cooked morning star patties, and since then it's been staple in my family's diets as well as all my friends I've introduced it to over 20+ years. I know veganism has become increasingly popular, and I appreciate morning star wanting to do their part. But as the rest of these reviewers said, the new patties are awful. I used to eat these everyday, and I can't eat them anymore they're so bad. Morningstar - at least offer a “vegan” version as well as the old “vegetarian” version. One way I think we can encourage people to eat less animal products is offering super yummy alternatives, but we don't have to be militaristic about it. So many of my meat eating friends switched out some of their meat products with these patties after I recommended it, because they were so good that even a non vegan/vegetarian could appreciate them. Now I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, and I'm sad that this is going to turn people away from the product.

As a lifelong vegetarian I have literally been eating Morningstar Farms sausage patties for about 30 years. They were hands down my favorite veggie product and I ate them nearly every day. Until now. You have ruined one of my absolute favorite foods. They are now mushy and they have a weird taste. I have been incredible loyal to Morningstar Farms for years and I never thought I'd stop buying sausage patties but it looks like this is the end for me. I'll start auditioning new options at the grocery store this week. Please bring back the old recipe! Keep the new vegan one as well if you want but give us back our original patties!

I used to eat these all of the time, for like 4 years. I hadn't bought them in probably a year and was craving them, so I bought a new bag. They taste nothing like the old ones, they're so gross and like fall apart….. won't buy again unless they change the recipe back..

I used to eat the original vegetarian recipe daily. It was the best and easiest way for me to have delicious meals while trying to cut calories. The new recipe smells and tastes like dog food and I will never eat them again. The only response Morningstar will ever give to questions about this new recipe is some odious nonsense about their "Clean label initiative" which is good and fine but what about the rest of us who just want to enjoy delicious, healthy meals. Sad to say after 10 years of eating these regularly it's time to say goodbye.

Used to love these, but I noticed recently that my two new bags of morning star sausage patties tasted bad and had a weird, stringy sort of texture. At first I chalked it up to maybe a bad batch. I Figured I'd try buying some more, but after buying two more bags the sausage definitely taste worse than they used to. Would have been nice if it was clearly marked on the packaging that the recipe had changed! Used to eat these almost everyday, but I guess I'll have to branch out now and try some other veggie sausage patties. Hopefully they'll bring the old recipe back sometime soon and I can go back to eating these.

We bought a new box of Sausage Patties in 7/21 & it appears the recipe has been changed. The texture is different (softer) & the flavor is different (strong fennel taste in some of the patties). Unfortunately, my family hates them & we won't be buying these again.

I have loved these for the last 3 years. Got a new bag about a week ago and couldn't figure out why they all taste like lime. Came here to learn the recipe has changed. Not sure what they changed besides removing egg and milk, but I'm very sad. I loved these and I'm not usually picky but the lime taste just doesn't go with anything except bitter ramen. All the savory foods I usually eat these with—forget it. Only thing this goes well with now is foods that are already bitter or spicy, and even then the lime taste sticks out.

I've eaten these for breakfast for decades, and I suddenly stopped being a customer. Why? Because this company made a short-sighted business decision: they cheapened their recipe, and ruined the iconic, Morningstar taste. I truly hope you have lost customers over this decision. Morningstar used to mean high-quality taste, but now it's this mushy, tasteless circle of fake meat that even a starving vegan would hesitate to eat. You can't throw away a quality recipe for myopic, financial incentives and expect sustained or long-term growth. Those are the decisions of a sinking ship; not a burgeoning, vivacious company that cares about their product or their customer.

I have been eating the sausage patties for decades. The new recipe is slimy, highly unpalatable, and added 10 calories. I am all for making something vegan, but please bring back a MSF classic or something. There was no obvious package change, I ended up buying them a few more times and each time threw out the whole package thinking they were spoiled. The new product is inferior in both taste and texture to the previous 70 cal sausage patty.
