Champion 5,500W / 6,800W Portable Gasoline Generator

we have this generator that we use at out camp and want to know if there is a conversion kit to run on gas or lp gas . if so where can we get one at . thanks

Like PaulMX, I have trouble starting it after a month or so of downtime. But unlike Paul I don't know how to disassemble the carb, clean the valve, and reinstall. Plese forward me the maintenance instructions.

Bought this at a great price and used it once for 4 hours and it worked great, but the next day it had a gas leak around the carburetor somewhere. I'm just don't have time to deal with customer service or warranty issues on a new product, sorry, but not sorry!

This generator never started. Pulling chord never engaged. The three years warranty that was purchased could not be used as I was referred to Champion for help. I was instructed to take the generator to the nearest approved repairing place. I just returned to SAMs. I should not have to work to get something to function when I purchased it brand new

It Never Started

This generator is easy to operate and has high enough output to operate all of my emergency back-up heaters and a microwave. I hope I never have to use it but if I do I know I can depend on the easy starting and reliable operation. New purchasers should double check the oil in the crankcase as delivered. I added fresh oil to the unit and discovered there was still some left in the crank from the factory. Other than that it was a piece of cake to assemble and get running. Cranked on second pull after adding gas and turning on the petcock, and I love the fact the engine is easy to drain and refill (funnel included). Also tech bulletins available on the champion website are a real nice touch including how to adjust the valves after break-in. Great customer service as well with questions answered by e-mail. Champion is a top drawer company.
