This is a bit niche as a small format photo sticker printer up to 2 inches wide and however long, but it's fantastic for its niche. The color is very good but not perfect. It struggles to represent lightly colored "washed out" or over exposed areas in photos but well saturated photos look great. Colors are bright and vibrant. The adhesive is good which is a really big deal. You don't have to peel the adhesive backing if you want to magnet a photo to your fridge or something like that. This would be great for scrapbooking if people are still doing that. Adhesive photos are durable enough to wear for a long time on a laptop that gets carried around in a bag, which is a big deal. Photos don't run or bleed. Inkjet can't do any of that. The "zink" photo stock does cost more. There's good open source software people have written to automate printing to these, that people have used to set up photo print stations at weddings and special events, and it works on Linux/Unix/BSD with that. This is a great way to make inexpensive, durable, full-color stickers to hand out or give to friends. Trimming the photos with scissors works well. Web/WiFi setup works. A 3" version and more standard printing protocols would be nice. Buy this to nicely do what nothing else does.

I was surprised and pleased to see how compact the printer is, and that it takes up very little space. It was very easy to set up, and directions are provided. All I needed to do is plug in, add the included ink cartridge, and download the app. Once the app was downloaded, I launched the app and followed the directions to set up the wifi connection, and start printing. The whole thing took about 7 minutes to complete after I opened the box.I like that there are so many options to use when printing labels. So many of the older label printers only allow black ink and just typed words. With this printer and app, you can add frames, backgrounds, photos, color, and clip art. I printed some photos to use as stickers, some plain labels, and some decorative labels to use in other projects. There is one thing I wish this printer had. I wish it contained a built in slicer to cut the label after it`s finished printing. I assumed it had one, and kept pulling the label, so I wasted some tape before I realized I needed to use scissors. Overall, the printer is great in size, prints high quality, easy to use, and has lots of great options. It`s nice to label and maintain home organization, and use for art projects.

I have to agree with another review that out of the box it was time consuming to install drivers and software. It's not plug and play and its not click and print. I also found it difficult to hook up as a wired (usb) printer. It seems they are pushing for their app style printing with this device then on a PC computer. I am also not impressed with the color. Color is off on label compared to the computer. I printed a deep blue and the color printed out muted or lighter blue on the label. While I like the small simple design and the inkless feature there are some things that need to be tweeked in order for this be be better in my option.

I highly suggest getting another ink free printer for your label needs. The rolls are expensive and the printer wastes a lot of the roll. The printer can't read the rolls half of the time. If you don't use the app to print it cuts off your images. It's not user friendly and just gives too many issues. Too much hassle for the cost honestly!

Not to bad for someone who wants to label things around the home. The colors are way off from what they appear to be on my saved labels. Lost connection several different times.Not good for a business trying to label Aroma Therapy Oils or similar products.

The instructions are clear and the app that`s used to help setup the printer is user friendly. It took me lest than ten minutes to setup from start to finish. The label maker prints color pictures really well. My daughter and I played with actual color photos and added borders and filters. There are many options for fonts and clip-art you can use to make your labels as unique as you are. My favorite feature is that the labels have a self adhesive that sticks firmly to any surface. I love that the app links to your photo library and social media pictures. This is my second label maker and Brother has truly upgraded label printing with this model. If I could improve this product it would be the option to print different size labels and photos. Overall, the Brother VC-500w Color Label and Photo Printer is a great product for scrap-booking, organizing and labeling. It makes organization colorful and fun.

The printer itself is light and compact and can be used anywhere, taking up very little space. It was very easy to hook up and download the app to my iphone. There are directions that come with the product, which are easy to follow, but if you know basic technology you won`t even need them. The printer can be used with a computer, laptop, ipad or ios/Android device and has air print capability which allows you to print your design with just a click of a button on your iphone. This is definitely my favorite feature, you don`t have to connect wires and can create from anywhere. Compared to other products I`ve used, I also found it to be user friendly and not take a lot of time to learn to use.The app itself walks you through the set up and creation of labels, adding photo`s, designs, color and much more. The library of pre-made projects is endless with options for all ages and interests. There are already made templates ready to go, but also the option for you to create your own design. The printer comes with a 1 inch roll cassette, but there is the option to purchase up to a 2 inch size as well. The printer also uses zero ink, Zink, which allows the product to already be dry when it prints. This is another great feature because you don`t have to worry about it smudging or waiting for it to dry. In my first time use I was able make a collage of 3 photos similar to what you would find at a photo-booth. The app walked me through importing the pictures right from my photo`s on my phone, adding color and a quick saying. This took me all of 6 minutes, and most of that time was spent finding the perfect pictures to use. I also made labels to organize my office space, and pantry, as well as made my mom labels for her canning jars. If you are looking for something to get organized, that is easy to use and versatile this compact printer is definitely for you. Overall, I was very satisfied with the product, but if I had to offer a suggestion I would love to see this same product also available in a larger option that could print 4x6 prints.

Needed colorful labels for kids, and I was attracted to the no-ink technology. It does the job: set-up with the WiFi was not as easy as I wish it would be, but I got through. The app (which I use interchangeably on a phone or tablet) is pretty easy to use once you understand how it works. I was able to download different art packs which was really good and helped made creative and colorful labels. Cons: cartridges are expensive and run through fast: I thought it was great not having to buy ink cartridges, but these are as expensive if not more and don't last. Also, it's best to use the 2inch cartridges, the 1 inch is very small. All in all, this little machine does what I need it to and while it's rather expensive (machine and cartridges), the cost is justified to me.

The original version of the App was a lot better with more features.
