I purchased my Generac directly and had it installed locally as well. Once installed I was looking for company to maintenance my Generac and thru the internet heard of the company I have used for the last 5 years. I am pleased to share that the company I am using is BOYLAND ELECTRIC INC. from Laytonville, MD. This company is great. Even though I did use them for my installation, they service my Generac as if they did. They complete 2 visits per year and they are always on time. Their technicians are polite, do a great job, and know what they are doing. I strongly recommend this company for maintenance as well as purchasing and installing your Generac, since they have been outstanding for me just for maintenance.

Just had whole house generator installed about 1 month ago. This Saturday came back home from shopping. It was just after huge downpour. I heard my neighbor's long time generator running so I knew power was out. I walked to side of house and the generator was on and quietly running. Came in the house - A/C was on, I received a BIG hug from my wife, I made a cup of coffee and sat back and watched a movie. What a Saturday afternoon! Thank you Generac! P.S. the power came back on sometime later - but I do not know, or cared, when, it switched over without me knowing!

This is a great generator,I have a portable genrac 5500 never a problem with it. This generator will be for the whole house in VA.The 22 Kw is the new one on the block.Less noise runs nice and works well. Steve from Baer electric came to my home at 6:15pm(that was the time I said was good)he was on time,which means a lot. After the assessment he gave me 3 options, a 6, 12 or whole home backup, I went with the whole home. We setup a install date, again he was on time. When he was done he went through the entire install with me. It was neat and clean. He showed me how to use the generator. And answered all my questions. Steve was respectful of my home and was completely professional. He also simulated a power failure so I could see the generator Working and he checked to see if all circuits were working. My family was tired of being without power for days at a time. Twenty one days just in 2012. Considered other brands, but bottom line is you can't beat the Generac repution. They have the top machines in the business. You may find cheaper units by other competitors, but you get what you pay for!

Our Generac kicks in automatically after only a few seconds and powers the entire house. We have our heating, cooling, lights, communications, and even our entertainment. But what is truly priceless is the peace of mind we enjoy knowing we have reliable and always-ready backup power. Generac is the king of generators for one reason - they're the best!

We had a 2400+ sq ft home built in 2010. During the design phase I told the builder I wanted a whole house generator. My only requirements were that I wanted to be able to turn on every light in the house, run two refrigerators, a freezer, the oven, the A/C, and any other appliance we had in the house in the event of a utility failure. The electrician spec'd a Generac 20KW natural gas unit that would be converted to use our LP gas. This unit fires up every Wednesday at 09:00 AM going through its self-test. I perform the the routine maintenance on it myself (oil changes, air filter, spark plugs). Maintenance is a simple as a typical lawn mower tune up; it couldn't be easier. Although we have not had any extended power outages to really test the unit, I feel quite confident it can handle anything we need from it. My wife and I are both retired and don't need any surprises at this stage in our life; our Generac 20KW generator gives us a piece of mind neither of us had in previous homes.

I had one problem and a single phone call to support took care of it-a wire had become unplugged in transit but support knew exactly which one as the battery would not charge. It only took about 4 hours to completely install. We purchased it for Hurricanes and also for frequent power outages in Florida and it works flawlessly. The weekly automatic self test is great.

Installed 20 kW unit with the smart transfer switch in November of 2014. Simple enough to install. Not for a do it your self project without a huge understanding of multiple trades. Started by picking a 17kw unit. Bought it, waited and waited for it. 2 months later, I finally walked into my supplier and asked in person what is going on. After the run around, they informed me that the 17kw was not available anymore. So I changed suppliers and went to a 20 kW. Had my unit delivered on the next day. I poured the pad one night after work, landed the unit a couple of days later, took a full day on a Saturday with 2 guys to complete the install. Overall, I am happy with the unit that I have.

I just had my generator installed and really like it. It looks good(about the same color as my house), comes on when the main power goes out, runs the whole house and everything about it is automatic. I also have the MobileLink and it is a great feature to have since I am out of town a lot and for a couple of weeks at a time.
