I bought this for back up power and have not needed to use it for that yet (hopefully I wont ever need to). I wanted to start it up to verify it worked and could not get it going using NG. It took a long time to get through to customer support but when I did they were able to get me going. we were able to start it using propane. Once it started using propane I was able to then start it using NG.

I live in a brand new house With a general link at the meter base. We bought this generator from Canadian tire, so we have the option of gas or propane. This generator powered our whole entire house for 9 1/2 hours on 1× 20lbs propane tank! Lights, heat pump, furnace, 2 fridges, 2 deep freezers, water pump, Microwave EVERY THING!!! way cheaper then running it on Gasoline.

I searched for months till I located this Tri-Fuel portable generator! I have been busy installing a transfer switch, Natural Gas line, buying propane tanks! I have not had to use it for power outage but with the Tri-Fuel I'm going to be all prepared! It is a good choice!

I ordered one of these because I wanted a portable natural gas generator for emergencies at my home. Also because I already have another champion inverter that has been good and customer service has always been helpful with my questions. I was a little disappointed with this one. It showed up very scratched up on the frame (appears to have occurred before it was put in the box) and tons of little metal shavings (tiny metal balls?) in the package and I can hear them rolling around in the frame, and I mean thousands of them (no idea why)? Since I needed it I decided to hang onto it and work out any issues with champion instead of returning it. I did the break in as instructed and so far all seems well. There is one minor design flaw I've noticed which is the carrying handle is right under the exhaust vents which causes it to become untouchable until it cools off. I'm sure because of that the plastic/rubber handle will melt away or dry rot quickly. If you let the handle go it slams directly into the exhaust which is also kinda clunky design. Time will tell of its durability, I bought it primarily for home backup on natural gas although I did the break in on propane.

I ordered a generator from another vendor only to find out that the natural gas requirement was too high for what my home has and the plumbers hooking up the gas recommended Champion. I ordered the 8000-watt tri-fuel and got a higher output generator that started right up and has worked flawlessly since. Very happy with this purchase.

After going through the Texas ice storm of 2021 with a small gas generator, we made the decision to purchase the Tri-fuel generator to power our house. I will no longer have to worry about having or finding gas if the power goes out again! The generator is well built and should last a long time for us.

I recently purchased a tri-fuel Champion generator to back-up my home in the event of a loss of utility power. Other than having to charge the included battery, it was super easy to start and operate on Natural Gas fuel. I hired an electrician to prepare my electrical panel to accept power from the generator. I am now ready to operate my entire home for days on NG fuel and Champion generated electrical power.

Seems like its working fine. Easy to assemble out of the box and has well thought out features. Tri-fuel capability is the way to go imo if you have access to natural gas...no more waiting for hours in fuel lines at the gas station. Super simple start up with step by step pictograms on the machine, nice feature for the wife to operate in an emergency.

So glad this product came out. I have been dependent on a gasoline generator for years during hurricanes and the deep freeze we had last year. The challenge is having enough fuel on hand to last the duration of the outage. Also, transferring gasoline to the generator presents its own hazards. I am having a quick disconnect installed on my NG line. This means I won't have to worry about running out of fuel and wot have to store 10's of gallons of gasoline in my garage.

I gave it 4 stars only because I just received the generator 2 months ago. Not sure how long it will perform. Very to install and started right away on natural gas. But boy is heavy, even pulling it with it's sturdy handle is a bit of a struggle, guess it means it is well built! Plan on buying a second unit for our summer home in Michigan.
