perfecto
Great overall!
Awesome watch to help keep track of all your fitness, sleep, and health. I really use it to help record my progress for fitness, tennis, and golf and tracking my results. The only complaint I have is wishing the Bluetooth could connect a little farther. It seems to only go about 25ft and alerts you every time you disconnect or connect when you are at that distance. Other than that it’s a solid overall watch!
Garmin Venu 3 Christmas 2023
I received a Garmin Venu 3 for Christmas (as I specifically bought it for my wife to give it to me) as a replacement for my other smartwatch due to them continually downgrading their app. I had been thinking of switching to Garmin for the past 2 years but due to price points kept going back with the competitor. Now I am wondering why I didn't get "smart" two years ago. The Venu 3 has everything the competitor ended: challenges for multiple types of exercises, fitness programs, expeditions, weekly challenges, and customizable app layout and watch faces. I am just beginning to use and learn its many features but have already gotten excited about achieving daily and weekly goals on multiple items. The Watch Face I am using, called GLANCE (free version), allows a complete customization where I can see progress arcs on steps, battery percentage and battery percentage arc, time with AM/PM and seconds, date (customizable format), distance, heart rate, and calories. That's all EASILY visible on the main watch face. I am still learning how to click thru for more details on the watch but have added multiple exercises which I plan on adding to my weekly exercise list. Then we go to the APP. Which literally blows away the former smart watch's app I used. Not even comparable. The app can be condensed or expanded on your phone. The map details on my walk show street names and you can even see what side of the street I walked on thru my neighborhood. It shows pace to such a level of color coded detail I can literally see where I had to stop and wait for my dog's to pee as we walked thru the neighborhood. I am literally kicking my self for not switching years ago. You do have to add My Fitness Pal to count calories and link it to Garmin as they suggest and this is seamless. They have a free version but I opted to actually pay for the version which allows a product code scan, which is awesome. I have had the Venu 3 and Garmin for about 3 days of use now and can highly recommend buying this product. Battery life is very good even with my usage of turning on all the battery draining features for daily use. The App Store, and even Garmin's web site, does not do the App justice in describing its features. Once you start to get into the details of what the app and watch are capable for enhancing fitness goals, its pretty remarkable. If you are on the "fence" about what Smart Watch to buy I can highly recommend Garmin for its App and this particular model, the Venu 3 which is highly rated on the internet in multiple review articles.
Would be amazing if it had a smart wake alarm
Happy to be back with a long-battery life garmin watch, but in terms of features outside of battery life it is not better than Fitbit's sense/versa offerings. Previously with fitbit, I had a better-than-average waking experience with the smart wake feature. For some reason Garmin doesn't include this, despite tracking all of the body data that would make it possible. Third party apps support the functionality somewhat, but at the cost of overnight body data tracking which in turn removes a lot of the body battery / etc feedback on the watch. It is frankly embarassing that Garmin hasn't implemented this feature in 2023. If you're a busy person that doesn't always have a consistent bedtime then you'll need to find another alarm solution to make up for Garmin's feature oversight. Currently wearing my older fitbit to bed to make up for this.
Excellent Sport Watch
Love how easy it is to understand and navigate the menu selections. Setting bedtime mode is great as i feel the watch almost force u to get proper sleep even though many of us feel we can operate on 5/6 hrs daily which not rechargeing your inner battery can head to health problems down the line so thanks for that
I'm Impressed
I upgraded to the Venu 3 because I could check ECG to assure AFIB hadn't returned. I am 74. I was amazed at all the features and really like the Open Water Swim feature that wasn't available on my previous model. The sleep tracking is excellent. Unfortunately, I lost it on a boating excursion during a windy rainstorm somewhere into the lake while struggling to control the boat during docking. It could have been out in the 30' area or near our dock. Couldn't find it despite the crystal clear water. So I bought another one. After 2 months of being in the water, my son found it under the dock in about 5' of water. Cleaned it off, put the charger on and it lit right up and immediately had the correct time. It is working like new. I now have one for "work" and one for "dress" use!
Venu 3
I bought the Venu 3 a couple of weeks ago, replacing by old but still nicely functioning Fenix 5. I’m enjoying the touch screen, and the overall functionality of the watch. Battery life seems good, but I’ve only used it in the mode in which the screen stays off until you raise or touch the screen.
Venu 3
Primarily purchased this for heart rate feature. Also purchased the HRM Pro Plus Strap as I wanted the best accuracy during exercise and ability to sync the watch with a strap was important. So far, one or both are a bit below my expectations as at times there are discrepancies between the strap and the watch. High/Low Heart Rate Alerts don't seem to work. In walking, the accuracy of the steps/miles is way off showing under 4 miles when I have walked 5. Have tried to adjust stride length but apparently has no effect. Strap easily syncs with stationary bike at the gym but watch app does not show distance or speed for this activity. I did download a watch face from the IQ app as the stock watch faces all have small icons/font size for heart rate and hard to see at a quick glance. Watch itself is a bit large, 43 mm would likely be a better size. Have reached out to Support a few times with questions and they have been helpful.
We are sorry to hear about the issue that you are having with the heart rate readings, and we would ask that you reach out to our team again so that we can get the details from you and offer further assistance. Excellent watch
Great looking watch that fits well with an easy to read screen and easy good functioning touch screen and buttons. Activities are easy to track and are accurate from hiking to playing pickleball. Long battery life which is good for many activities and sleep tracking. Good for most people from serious athletes to the beginners that want a smart watch and fitness tracker.
Great Watch
Couldn’t ask for a better watch to buy. Sleak looking
