Great watch

I only had the Venu 3 for two weeks but, I really have come to love this watch. I had a Samsung watch 4 and the difference is huge, especially on the battery life! It'll take a little time to get use to all the new features and button functions but, it's worth it.

Great features, poor quality.

I bought my watch on January 2025, I was ok with the features, but not with quality of the volume of the speaker, it sounds too low when try to talk through it. The others features are fine. Less than 4 months of use I couldn't answer calls through the watch, the green icon to do so was broken.

I Really Wanted to Love This Watch

I really wanted to love this watch. I upgraded from a perfectly functional original Venu, and had the Vivoactive before that. I love the new (to me) user interface and enhanced sleep features. The key features I was looking forward to on the Venu 3 were 1) upgraded HR sensor and ECG capability and 2) Voice Assistant to dictate texts and the ability to make and answer phone calls. I wasn't worried that the ECG capability wasn't enabled at launch, although I would have hoped that Garmin would have planned to have the FDA approval in place prior to launch. The Voice Assistant and ability to use the built in mic and speaker to make phone calls and listen to or dictate texts has been a major disappointment. I couldn't get the Voice Assistant to connect to my phone when I was setting up the Venu 3, even though other notifications were successfully being sent to the watch. I contacted Garmin Support and was sent a replacement. I was able to get the replacement Venu 3's Voice Assistant to connect to my phone and work, but other major problems still remain. The watch disconnects from the phone if I get more than 10'-15' away (line of sight) or go into another room. My previous Venu had greater range. I also have a great deal of connectivity issues with the Voice Assistant when riding my bicycle. I'm guessing that the fact that my phone connects to my bike computer (head unit) is causing a problem, but being able to reply to texts or calls while riding was one of my primary use cases. The final problem is that while I can initiate or answer phone calls on the watch, after a few seconds, the audio on the watch stops and reverts back to the phone itself. I have to hurry to get the phone out of my pocket and talk to the caller before they think I've hung up and hang up themselves. These features feel like they're still in beta and weren't ready for release. The fact that the voice features were working on the Venu 2 Plus makes the problem even more aggravating. For the amount of money I paid for this watch, I didn't expect to be a beta tester. At this point, I'm hoping for a firmware update to address the Bluetooth connectivity issues which seem to be at the core of the problems I'm experiencing.

Non smart watch new owner

I bought this because Dr recommended it as a more budget friendly option for helping me, hopefully, pinpoint any issues that's be coming from heart or lungs before more expensive tests. So far, I have learned a lot about my health in this regard. And, I have been learning a lot about how to use the watch. So far, good experience.

Watch stuck on a boot logo

Received email 'Thank You for Registering Your Venu 3'. That would be fine, if I didn't register it more than a year ago. So, what Garmin is trying to do now? Yesterday watch stuck up on blue triangle (boot logo). The usual measures like reboot etc.. didn't help. Found that it was not isolated case. Many other customers with five or six models of watches including Venu 3 were affected. So far Garmin didn't suggest good fix except factory reset. But if you update watch after factory reset, it goes to the same issue. Besides, you lose all your setup and practically have to start from the beginning. I would of give one star because Garmin be testing their updates more carefully, but I used the watch for a year and like it.

Right size and features

I really like my Fenix 7 solar, but never used anywhere near it's capabilities. So I went for the Venu 3 to get most of the features at a smaller size. It works very well and meets my needs. One thing for all Garmins, I sure would like having wireless charging again.

Replaced my Apple Watch 9

Had for a month and love all the features and BATTERY LIFE. I don’t text through my watch and I rarely take calls on the watch so if that’s important to you iPhone users this may not be for you. But not having to charge everyday and all the additional features is worth the cost of the better implementation of texting/calling. Takes a little more effort to setup than the Apple Watch too but it is worth all the effort.

Still learning, great so far

Frankly, I wanted a Samsung, but the battery life was an issue. 1 or 2 days just wouldn't work. And now I know I made the right choice. I'm still learning the features and how to use the 2 apps for it. The address book is a little clunky, but functional. My old Samsung just used the phone's list while the Garmin needs to import up to 50. I've added a data watch face that has about 10 different fields and colors galour. Love that. It's a pricey watch, but it does everything I've wanted so far.

So far, so good…

I’ve owned this product for 3 weeks now. All good, no complaints. I previously had an Amazfit smartwatch and this is an upgrade in every category. I’m still learning the interface and navigation but it has many options and features to keep me motivated to learn more. My only small complaint is having to use two different apps to manage the smartwatch. I haven’t been able to use the GPS and fitness tracking for much other than walking due to my current situation. Overall, a good upgrade and beneficial investment thus far.

Everything I was looking for!

I have been an Apple Watch user for years. I even dabbled in Fitbit from time to time when I wanted to really focus on my health. I always dumped the Fitbit and went back to Apple Watch because I just got bored. However, I purchased my husband and myself each a Garmin Venu 3 a little over a month ago and I am still as ecstatic about it as I was the first day! I don’t see my love of Garmin going anywhere!! Set up of the Venu 3 was so easy, paired flawlessly with our iPhones, and they charged fast! We made it through a week of challenging each other to steps challenges, tracking sleep cycles, getting copious amounts of notifications from our phones, treadmill workouts, and just frivolous scrolling all the features on our Venu’s before ever having to charge. We even decided so we wouldn’t “cheat” each other out of steps we’d charge them together so we plugged them up while we decided to watch some TV together. Again, another very quick charge, because by time our show was over we put them back on! I love the ability to download connect IQ and change my watch face. I found the perfect one that has every feature right on my watch face that I want to see (and it’s customizable if I change my mind) plus I can change the colors to match my mood or the holiday that’s near! The real part of the pros of the Venu 3 for me, thought, are the fact that I’m moving more than I ever have. Hitting that step goal every day is so satisfying that I keep going back for more! Also- tracking my water intake. As someone who’s never drank much in her life ever, I’m now drinking what a normal human should lol! I have something to look forward to (meeting that goal!) and it’s not only affected my mood, but also my physical health! My blood pressure is lowering naturally and my glucose isn’t all over the board anymore. I’m feeling so much better in the last few weeks and I absolutely attribute that to my Garmin! So if you’re on the fence… Get it! You won’t regret it. I simply cannot wait for spring and summer.. I’m excited to utilize my watch on some hikes and see what kind of stats I come up with then! And you never know, my first 5K may end up being soon too! From someone who sit on the couch most of the day… if you want some motivation, get the Garmin!
